Long shot pick to win: Alex Fitzpatrick
+4000 at BetMGM
With three consecutive Top 10s in Signature Events during an elite ball-striking run, I’m not overlooking Alex Fitzpatrick at this price.
Considering he ranks second in this field in true strokes gained tee-to-green and third on approaches across his past four events, he should be trading closer to +3500.
The excellent play also dates back to his scorching run on the DP World Tour, which culminated in a win at the Hero Indian Open.
Long shot pick to win: Eric Cole
+4500 at BetMGM
The 2022-23 PGA Tour rookie of the year is still chasing down his first victory, and he’s been knocking on the door for the past two months with four Top 10s across his past six events.
Eric Cole’s numbers pop during the stretch, too.
He’s 15th in this field in true strokes gained tee-to-green, fourth on approaches, and sixth in putting during the heater. I would still recommend a Cole outright ticket at +4000.
Long shot pick to win: Mac Meissner
+5500 at BetMGM
The 27-year-old American has carded three Top 10s while ranking 17th in this field in true strokes gained tee-to-green and 15th on approaches across his past five events.
Mac Meissner has also posted sneaky season-long scoring statistics, ranking 24th on the PGA Tour in adjusted scoring average and 21st in bogey avoidance.
I’d recommend a longshot ticket on Meissner down to +5000.
