Have you noticed all the Love the Giants are getting as the team with momentum who barely lost to the Packers on December 4th? The Giants are poised and confident for the upset as they have discovered their defense and running game. Also, the so called experts cannot help but compare this year’s version of the Giants to the 2007 model when they got hot and came to Lambeau to beat the Packers for the NFC Championship.

Some big differences are that Brett Favre was the QB in 2007 and threw a critical INT late in the game to help hand the Giants the W. While there are still some G-Men still on this team from 2007, this is a different Packer squad now, 5 years later. Aaron Rodgers has 6 INTS this entire season to go along with his 45 TD’s and the highest QB rating in NFL history. Aaron has shown a propensity to stay away from the critical errors.
The other factor is how will the Bye week affect GB? Some are concerned that Rodgers has not played a down since Christmas. Some trends on the Bye week are that teams with rest and home field advantage are 11-17 ATS and 14-14 SU since 2004. Last year they went 2-2. The NFL is a pass happy precision machine and timing is critical. Packer WR Greg Jennings is healthy but how long will it take for Rodgers and Jennings to get back on the same page? If the Packer defense can get off to a fast start, that should provide plenty of time to allow the GB offense to keep it rolling, I mean after all, a guy named Matt Flynn did fairly well two weeks ago against the fearsome Lions and Mattie hadn’t played a down for some time so he had to get the rust out prior to tossing 6 TD’s. I think Aaron will be fine.

The two major critiques of the 15-1 Super Bowl Champions is they do not have a running game or their defense has been playing poorly, not necessarily in that order. I recall how every one said this exact same thing last season as the packers went on the road in their Super Bowl quest and guy named Starks emerged. Ryan Grant has run fairly well the last 3 weeks and now Starks is health again so do not discount the Packers ability to run. Factor in they NOW have their full starting offensive line ready to go for the first time since week 1. Yes, Green Bay is healthy and it should show at the line of scrimmage which I gave the advantage to NY on December 4th. The Packers beat the G-Men on the perimeter while the Giants handled the line of scrimmage and the Packers now it and will change that.
Yes, New York played well the last meeting with GB on there home field and they still lost. That last drive showed how effortless Rodgers can move the chains when he really needs to, 3 passes and boom, they are in FG range and they win.
