Love this system it has been $$$$ - thanks! Do you think 2nd half tanking by done teams will hurt the over trend?
That's an interesting question. Well, looking at it there are only six teams that realistically have a chance at a top lottery pick this season:
76ers
Lakers
Nets
Suns
Timberwolves
Pelicans
Out of those, the Nets don't have a pick as they traded it to Boston, so they have no incentive at all to tank. That leaves the other five teams, which do.
It bears watching, particularly after the 60th game of the season, which is the unoffical beginning of tank season historically.

Had too much time today and almost read this entire thread, you've had an interesting experience needless to say. Seems the NBA has been as golden as its ever been since you started back in 2013.
Will be tailing ya, sent ya a friend request as well BOL.

Hey Jbecks, Interesting stuff on that playoff situation by the end of march. Does this happen every year in the NBA? Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. Greetings from the Snake Nest
Yes every year. The motivation and strategy is very team specific during that time. They stop playing by "every team tries its best". Motivation for getting into playoff, or resting players, or home court. Smart teams like Spurs may lose a game at the end to LAL/Suns/Sixers if they could engineer a specific opponent for 1st round and gain advantage. Spurs even do this during season and try out new defense team ups etc. They dont care if they lose to GSW or Cavs by 30 points even during the regular season. All they want is to study their opponent to beat them when it matters.
New rules for playoffs were put in (Sept 18, 2015) for this season though. Automatically top 8 teams qualify for playoff and bracketed for 1st round as (1st seed plays 8th seed)..and so on. Also since 2014 the playoffs were changed to 2-2-1-1-1 instead of 2-3-2, so stats and results of previous years are a bit dubious in comparison.
So we will see how the teams behave this time around.
