The fact is that Colts have not lost all year at home. The Patriots lost to the Jets at home in November.

What I think Bator is saying is that:
Everybody already knows that Peyton is brilliant at home but the defense has been suspect. However, Bator is saying that the defense has been stellar of late and have stiffened up for post season. On top of that, they have revenge on their side. I totally agree with Bator and so I am biased as far as a line judge.
As far as Peyton's previous post season losses, there is an old golf saying that you "have to lose before you can win" and I think that will motivate the Colts even more. As far as the die hard NE fans, Bator has been brilliant with his AFC West analysis and he is discounting the NE win over the Chargers by saying San Diego is definately beatable.

You write eloquently but you leave out some pertinent facts.
Just TWO weeks ago the Colts had the worst run defense in the NFL.
Yes they stopped KC and Baltimore but Trent Green and an aging
Steve McNair are LIGHT YEARS away from Tom Brady.
You keep bringing up how the Patriots did not play well but
you neglect the fact that they WON.
In San Diego, where the Chargers are UNBEATABLE.
You also are banking on a Colt QB that is has one (as in almost zero)
TD and Cinquo de Mayo picks.
Do you really believe Bellichek is not going to figure out
a way to stop JOSEPH ADAI?
Then the game will be in a QB's hands that has, still to this very day,
shown he can handle playoff pressure

Brady doesn't scare me, neither does Manning not playing that well of late,
It's Billy Bell. He is not only a good coach, I think he might be LUCKY.
The only thing that keeps me with the
Colts is his luck may run out because he doesn't have Marty this week
Oh and also MR.BATOR. Guy is hot

Tom Brady was far from sharp in yesterday's game. Up until Marlon McCree's fumble, he positively sucked (by his standards, of course). The devastating, and inexcusable, turnover by McCree put the entire Charger team in Full Choke Mode, and after that they were incapable of doing anything right. full disclosure: I'm a huge Patriots fan. It seems to me that MrB thinks the Colts are a lock. I can't blame him for taking the Colts but he seems to be way too confident. Peyton always plays poorly in big games. He did it at Tennessee and he has contined that through his years as a colt. Yes the colts defense has played better in the post season but lets look at the facts. He faced the Chiefs in one of the worst coached games ever in post season play. Indy dared the Chiefs to throw the ball on 1st and 2nd down by bringing everyone INCLUDING their corners on run blitzes. yet Herm continued to do larry J up the middle on 1st and 2nd down or throw a 5 yard curl pattern to Gonzalez.
Last week the Colts played a very poor offense in the Ravens. McNair could not throw the ball more than 10 yards down the field. The Ravens rank 17th in total yards and 24th or something in rushing. Ravens scored their points because of their defense. I think it will be different when they face a better offensive team in NE.
The Patriots young and very talented offensive line is playing its best ball of the year. The job they did against SD was very impressive. I expect that trend to continue against the Colts and watch Brady continue his unbelievable play inside domes and shred the Colts secondary and set up the run of Maroney and Dillon.

TCNY .........You indeed posted a interesting tread and, I didn't see where you did Mr.B, an injustice just the opposite. I will give it to you for having your own opinion, it's a lot more then most people in this forum
have.
I use Trends also but,as one of the tools along with a lot of other factors,not just a hypothesis
( inadequacy of evidevce) to support my choice.
Tom remember 4 of anything does not even come close to a trend, too small of a sample size. You could use it and if someone you respect is opposite, you don't have have to switch sides,you could just down size your wagger by a few beaver pelts.
Its sounds like we will be hearing from you in the furture.

Tom, you need to let that go. Regular season stats count for far less in my eyes than the last two games. I wasn't high on the Colts two weeks ago myself, and even after seeing one defensive throttling against KC, I still wasn't impressed, as evidenced by my losing moneyline bet on the Ravens. But I learned from that losing bet, and I took full note that the Colts defense has indeed stiffened at just the right time. That 600 yard game against Jacksonville seven weeks ago? Ancient history. What matters is how they are playing right now, and this defense, although not some suddenly impenetrable force, does have the confidence to play another good game. Like I said to someone else here, they don't have to stuff the Patriots like they did the Chiefs and the Ravens. If they hold the Patriots to under 21, that'll be good enough.

I don't give them nearly as much credit as others are giving them for yesterday's game because they were up against a team that was looking for ways to lose! I didn't bet on the Patriots yesterday because I thought they were a top team, I bet on them because I KNEW the Chargers would fall apart if the Patriots could apply pressure to them late in the game. Tomlinson had a strong game and it didn't do them any good. They had to rely heavily on Rivers and he couldn't do anything. But Rivers is no Peyton Manning. Believe me, guys, Manning is going to come up big.

The Chargers were pretenders and I've maintained that on these boards for weeks. As little as I thought of the Chargers, I still couldn't follow through with my Patriots moneyline bet. What does that say about how much faith I had in New England? I knew the Chargers were bad and still I didn't trust New England to get it done SU. Now the Patriots are up against a legitimate, fully-focused, revenge-minded powerhouse, and now I KNOW the Patriots will not get it done.

Look, Manning didn't have a good game against the Ravens defense, but you know what? WHAT QUARTERBACK DOES? As for the Chiefs game, everyone is maligning Manning for his three interceptions but what everyone forgets is that the guy was 30-38 in that game! That's 79% completions! And none of his three picks put the game at any risk, all they did was prevent the final score from being 30-8 or maybe 37-8.

If you call three picks unstoppable, you are absolutely correct.

So? Even on a day he got picked three times, he still led his team to an easy win by completing 30 of 38 passes.

im not sure what to think... ive seen 5 cappers that i respect a lot with GOYs on indy. I want to know how they can have THAT MUCH trust in the colts.
Before their last 2 games, they gave up 22 points at home to Miami, lost outright to Houston giving up 27 points, did only give up 16 to cinci at home and won impressively, but got CRUSHED at jacksonville giving up 44, and lost the week before to tennessee 20-17. I know they have Bob Sanders now but can he really be THAT much of a difference? In that week of practice between the Miami and KC game did something just click? Or did they just decide to start trying in the playoffs?
In the last month and a half both teams have played jax, houston, tennessee... new england dominated all of these teams and the colts lost to all of them. The Jacksonville score was a lot closer than it should've been... jax got 2 fluke tds - they couldnt move the ball all game. New England crushed tennessee the last week of the season barely trying... indy lost to them at full strength.
Another good trend for this season is don't expect what you saw in the last week to happen again. So often if teams looked unbeatable they will lose the week after, if a team loses 31-0 the week before the win the next week... id have to say the colts d looked incredible while new england looked sloppy - so dont expect the same to happen this week.
I'm not saying the colts will not win this game or won't cover, but how people are willing to make their biggest play of the year on indy i have to question.
