The game is not a toss up.  Motivation is lopsided in this one.  Every football player will scratch and claw on the day he has a chance to earn a trip to the Super Bowl, but it's the Colts who will come out steaming while the Patriots will again try to "hang around and make some plays at the end."  That was their admitted strategy yesterday and that won't cut it this Sunday.

I have to admit it surprises me that someone

who exhibited the expertise you have, is going to ignore

all the past playoff history for the Colts(bad) and all the playoff

history for the Pats (good)

 

I mean I can see thinking the Colts are going to win

but you seem to know the Colts are going to win.

With the way they were seemingly DETERMINED to self-destruct, the Chargers would have lost a close one to Chula Vista High.

The sad thing is that those who choose to wait until the Superbowl to hop on the Colts moneytrain will get nowhere near the value that they did the last two weeks and this week.

Crazy thread.... Looks like a stalemate.  Good thing the books allow players to bet on EITHER team.  Maybe if we lived in China or something, we would all be forced to bet on the same side.

One of the MANY costly lessons I have learned is, do not

over think a game.

mr bator i respect your knowledge ,but what makes a team great?The patriots

 have 3 superbowls under there belt in the last 5 years and still competing in the playoffs every year, if thats not great than i would like to know what is.Granted this years team might not be as good as some of the

past years,but i still believe there a great team.You cant compare them to teams from differant eras, cause

players back in the day dont have the size and speed that they have 2day.To me a great team answers the call,and the pats answer it when it matters.

 

 

 

Tom, I'm aware of the playoff history, particularly between these two teams, but both times they met, it was in Foxboro and there was no question in my mind then that the Patriots had the better team.  I bet the Patriots for big money in both of those games and in fact, the Pats 20-3 home dog win in January of 2005 was my biggest straight bet ever (up to that point).  This time, though, it's the Colts who are the better team, its the Colts who are at home, and most importantly, this time its the Colts who want it more.  I have no doubt that Belichick will once again have his team prepared to play.  It won't do him any good.

For what it's worth MrB, I'm not gonna fade you!  And I realize that we are gambling.  Anything could happen.  That's why they call it gambling!  A person would have to be a moron to cuss someone out if they picked a game wrong and he lost money because he followed his advice.  IT'S GAMBLING.  And I've enjoyed some nice plays.  Thanks B.
