You advice has made me money this year and I feel I owe

it to you to give you fair warning on your Colts play versus the Pats.

 

There is a trend going in the post season that says the Pats are the play.

 

The trend is this:

 

If the teams playing have faced eachother during the regular season play as follows.

 

Two pointspread wins= play the team that has covered twice.

 

Split two meetings against the spread= play the team that failed to

cover the most recent meeting.

 

Played each other once= play the team that failed to cover.

 

This system is perfect this year (NYG +6.5 vs Philly, NE -9 vs Jets, Philly +5 vs New Orleans,

and Seattle +9 versus Chicago.

 

It was also a perfect 4-0 last year.

 

I know you are not a trend player and you are a MUCH better handicapper

than me but I want a clear conscience(?) before I bet against you

Past results have absolutely nothing to do with the future. It's all math, if you refine things down far enough there is a trend that is undefeated. Take the Colts and go to bed, it's their year.

There was another thread about in here about a 21-1 system that went 0-3 over the weekend.  A system is simply that, a system.  It doesn't take into account injuries, momentum, point-spread value, etc. 

 

Instead of relying on systems, I try and recognize the better team.

Sorry I just disagree.

 

If a trend is winning I play it the trend until it loses.

 

Even if what you said was true about the 21-1 system, you would still

be 21-4 after going 0-3.

 

You can NEVER go 21-4 just picking the better team.

 

Trends rub people the wrong way because there is no logical

reasoning behind them.

 

IMO that is just pure ego getting in the way.

 

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth is my motto.

 

Even if the Pats hit the crapper, the worst I can do on sides in

this year's playoffs is 4-1.

 

I will take that every time.

line is only indy -3, if indy wins the game, they cover it (imho)

 

giants covered, but lost the game, philly covered but lost the game, seattle covered but lost the game

 

if the line was indy -7, then it would be a stronger play

Four out of the six games fell on three points this year.

 

Buy the hook if it makes you feel better, but a smarter play would be New England ML.

 

The SMARTEST play of all is just stick to the system.

past results have nothing to do with future results regarding statistics, is the theory, past outcomes have nothing to do with future results.  Mostly true in sports gambling, but there are exceptions to this rule i believe.

It did cross my mind that he may trying to drive the line in his favor

by posting opposite of what he is really betting, but I do not really

believe it.

 

 

i broke one of my cardinal rules TWICE this playoff season.... Never EVER bet against Brady and Belicheck in the playoffs!

 

I would rather not bet the game than lose more money!

 

I totally respect Bator... but I can't in good concience bet against him again.
