will be playing both ballgames at $550/$500
like them both a good bit but don't wanna risk $1100 on each... risking $1100 overall.. have to protect some of this early profit. If these two hit than I can debate if I want to go back to K plays or not

Let's say you play the Kings +8 over the Wizards. What if the Kings crap the bed right from the tip?
You didn't cap it as you said, and you chose a game where you couldn't exploit it with a middle or a ML shift in game.
This happens every night with bad teams.
Not sure why that is so attractive. You must be capping a dog to some degree to know the game could go to +ML territory for the favorite.
And I've seen in-game lines move. Dogs with pretty big leads early do not get the shifts in the ML and line to exploit. It's only late where they become solid lines. Too late for my comfort level.
Sure, sometimes you get stuck with positions you don't want (as another poster mentioned) but that's not the goal here. Whether you are instantly selling/middling your position, you are using multiple sites against each other to get an advantage. Pregame betting/halftime lines don't offer this. The prices are what they are give or take 0.5.
"Capping" involves studying players/teams. I don't do any of that. My capping is studying numbers/prices during the game across multiple sites at the same time.
I like to think I am more investing than gambling, but at the end of the day, we are all gambling. Both forms of have their own advantages/disadvantages. Part of me wishes I was able to simply "cap" games because it wouldn't be as time consuming. I know most enjoy watching the games for action purposes but they don't have to watch the games. I have to be watching the games. (or at the very least, in front of my computer with access to every site I have at the same time)
Despite how different they are in terms of the bet making process, I am still a strong believer in what I/others have mentioned in regards to discipline. If a play falls into your system (whatever that system is) you should play it no matter how many games you have played on the day. It is your responsibility to make sure your judgement isn't clouded by emotions of being up or down on that specific session. THAT is the discipline that is needed. That said, if you spend hours capping games (I'd imagine the games of the entire day from start to finish), then I do understand you could make the argument that the game would have stood out in your capping session if it needed to be played. Not “oh I’m up/down on the night, lets stay disciplined and take the rest of the night off” There seems to be a great divide on the entire concept.

Good Afternoon CG
I have following your progress for a while now. I wish you the best in your endeavor. I am planning a 2 month "trial" later in the year, so I am learning all I can from trailblazers like yourself.
I think once you have proven to yourself that you are good enough to make a living at sports investing, you will feel less pressure.
Keep up the good work

Both plays locked in just about a half hour ago at 10:30 am pacific
Michigan State Spartans -8 (-110) $550/$500
This team is rolling right now.. I made the mistake of going against them Sunday and learned my lesson. The Gophers stink on the road and not sure how motivated they will be, meanwhile the Spartans should get in the tourney but they are still on the bubble and know they need to play well tonight.
Cleveland Cavaliers -3 bought half pt (-120) $540/$450
The Cavs are rolling right now and I wouldn't bet against that freight train at this moment. I do think the Cavs will obviously win and also cover but something about -3.5 bothered me this game.. Just a gut feel I had in this particular spot that it would be WISE to buy the half pt.
bol all lets go Spartans and cavs!
