Sounds like this conversation with you. So far 10 people have told you that you dont have to go to Vegas to do what you want to do. That it is cheaper not to. That you can get better lines not in Vegas. That you have a better chance of being profitable outside of Vegas.

But you are like my mom insisting on going to the post office? Why? Why havent you even acknowledged what so many people here suggest who have experience?

As far as your questions about books... I have several friends who bet much more than your type of money at 5dimes. They now use bitcoin. It is very easy. There are even bitcoin sportsbooks that I have dabbled with that take 10 bitcoin wagers (about 3k currently) and you get your money back instantly and it is reduced juice.

Any of these options are better than going to Vegas. Repaint your room the colors of the Mirage Hotel and pretend you are in Vegas.

Just get your 30k, walk up to the counter, hand it over, walk away and just save yourself the trouble

Good luck CG. In my opinion, you're sitting down at the poker table with $50. Sure, it's a $1-2 game, but everyone at the table has a 3K stack in front of them. Some really good advice in here. Take heed. Wish you the best.

Vegas is not what it is cracked up to be. Just be content with the extra income betting sports provides you and spoil yourself with a trip out there every now and again. From your latest confessions it sounds like you would be setting yourself up for disaster. Also just because you quit your job doesnt mean your 401k money disappears. Pretty sure you can cash it out or roll it over when you get a new job.

The bottom line is you are unhappy with your current state of affairs. Only one thing you can do about it, change it. Happiness can not be found in a magic pill or a night with a MILF. You have to find that within. Make some life changes, take up a new hobby. Whatever you do I would not allow gambling to consume your life. Moving to Vegas would be a big step in that direction.

Still rooting for you regardless of what you decide to do. But you admitted to being an alcoholic. This needs to be addressed and nipped ASAP. I now think you need to NOT go to Vegas but stick around NJ for a bit and get this taken care of. Take your @ss to AA and get some help, you'll think clearer and your vision will become brighter. The fog will lift. Plus you won't piss away hundreds on booze.

BOL man…but I think you've already talked yourself into staying and I think that is the wise choice my friend.

Also, 3k a month in living expenses seems extraordinarily high…if you decided to go there are ways to cut this to 2k easily.

Happy New Years fellas. I'm 2-1 today with Bama -7 pending. Yea went 0-3 yesterday but I am having an unreal bowl season. Everything I told u guys is true. Addicted to betting, booze, dip, and whoress. I am a true degenerate. ROLL TIDE tonight fellas. I graduated from Bama 2009. Watching this rose bowl brings back memories of being at the 09 Texas Bama title game for me. The tailgaiting at the rose bowl is awesome. Huge grounds.
