Smack, it seems like you have a doctorates in psychology like my wife.  Yes, I am an entrepreneur in the DC area at 36 years old (37 next month) but have been thru rough times since I started my businesses at 24 and it was a live and learn situation.

As they say, it's a hard knock life and the way cg is doing it and leading other fellow cover members towards the "promised" land is not right.  He is now playing with ppl's lively hood who are actually looking at his plays and depending on him which is not right.  (Well at least in my POV).

My whole point was, why not take experienced cappers like vanzacks advice and try to add it to your own style?  Everything this "kid" is doing is wrong and he had the help and support in the beginning and middle of the thread from well known established cappers.  I could only wish a person like Vanzack could give me some advise.  I would like to learn more and I would take his advise.

It doesn't matter what you have, it matters what you do with it, correct?

Absolutely agree with most of what you say, broncofn.  I said several times in this thread that CG had literally tens of thousands of dollars of advice given to him in this thread by some very knowledgeable gambling minds.  He received this free education because he put himself out there, at first, and wanted the advice...again...at first.

Something changed though.  My belief is that his youth, his undisciplined character and the lack of structure combined with the Vegas "experience" overwhelmed him.  His early success did him no favor in that respect as well as it fooled him into thinking that he was the exception instead of the rule as a handicapper.  Combine this with a lack of some important basic knowledge (how to get the best lines, etc, etc) and when the bad times came, he was not prepared to weather the storm.

He went back to old habits...chasing, increasing bet sizes...typical gambler behaviors.  He resisted grinding with flat bet strategies even when shown their efficiency over what he was doing.  He basically abandoned his lightly thought out plan to be a pro.

Everyone has to "live and learn" and CG has been gifted many pieces of advice that others have paid dearly for before him in the schools of hard knocks.  It's a shame that he must follow the path of youth and learn the hard way.  Very few there are who do not take this path...they are certainly the exceptions to the rule.

The beauty of it is that Vanzak, and others, have left their valuable information in this thread.  When I started to first read this thread, I saw there were over 180 pages or so.  Quite the daunting task it seemed, but as I kept reading I saw the golden nuggets of information that were being dropped.  I copied and pasted them into files for future reference and study.  The reason I read every page and waded through so much of the worthless fodder that was also in here, is because every now and then some true jewels were found. I did not keep reading because of CG.

Those jewels are still in this thread.  Waiting for you and any others to go back and pick them off the ground...like 100 dollar bills just lying in the street.  I encourage you to do so when you have time. You will not be wasting your time.

But to your point about CG harming others by exposing them to his "journey"...everyone in this thread, I believe, is a big boy of legal age.  CG is no more likely to harm people with his picks than any other person throwing out picks on any given day.  And if the average gambler does go back through this thread and read it and they see the valuable advice, they will receive far more benefit from this thread that CG started than any picks he may give out that they may lose money on.

On balance, this will be a positive experience for the majority who read it and not a negative.  This is also why I have not left the thread to the garbage talkers who ply their stock and trade here on a daily basis.  The good stuff will be read and recognized and the huge audience this thread has will get the good stuff and most will leave the bad behind and never remember it.

No, no psychology doctorate from an accredited school of higher learning and high priced tuition.  A doctorate in life studies of my own design, which I can guarantee you has cost me more than any 8 years or more of doctorate studies would have cost me...lol.

Of course it is not the correct way.  He would have been much better served to plan a 2 week or 1 month vacation at a key time of the year for his best sport...say, week 6 to 10 in the NFL season, and done a test run on his "professional strategies".

All of these same issues would have come up within that time and then when he went back to his job, he could reference that experience and draw on it for future use and planning should he go ahead and decide to actually live in Vegas.

Youth and impulsiveness are almost synonyms.  Add in some alcohol and drugs...throw in a little possible bipolar (maybe) and you have an explosive combination that is ill suited for the grinding life and edge seeking pro sports investor.  Maybe he could have seen that on a preliminary trip and saved himself a big mistake...maybe not.

But, that is water under the bridge at this point.  It's time for a crash course in life.  And for a kid from Jersey who did not know that a bank would give him 5k of his own money without any trouble or difficulty, it will be a bumpy road with many crashes.  Can he learn fast from his mistakes?  Remains to be seen on many levels.

That's why this thread has so many views and viewers.

It's also another reason why this thread is so valuable.  There are thousands out there who need to see and read every page of this for multiple reasons.

    It's a net positive.

I'm not letting the Ivy league championship go by the wayside just because I don't have Harvard winning by 7. It's a once a year bet. The same went for Rutgers Michigan. I knew I was playing with fire. A missed Xtra Pt did me in but that's the risk you take. Here it worked out. But both times I had the right team winning. I just gave out a bit to much in the Rutgers game. A bit being .5 pt.

I bought Harvard from 1.5 to 1 because it GAVE ME a MONEYLINE or push which is exactly where I wanted to be since I had Harvard capped to win the whole way. End of story.

You've blasted CG's capping ability since this thread started.  Yet you would trust him if he said he capped the game for MSU to win by 7-10?  That's exactly what you are saying.

SARS runs strong in you, 33%.

"You have crap capping abilities, but the secret to winning a game like this with a -1.5 spread FOR YOU is to cap it as a 7-10 point win."

"I don't trust your capping abilities, at all, but YOU should only bet MSU at the -1.5 spread if YOU cap them  to win by 7-10."

    That is beyond fantastic.

This message board and frequent visitors reminds me of the crowd at the Daytona 500.  Half the people are here to cheer on their hero and the other half want to see a crash.

Like most people I am impressed with how far some people are going to help CG.  I am shocked at how far some are going to goad CG into accelerating into the wall.

I do strongly disagree with the people on here that think 30K is not enough to get a pro career started.  It is more than enough.

The mistakes that CG has made have been quite predictable and in a lot of cases predicted by some of the sages on this thread. BUT CG is not thinking straight at this point.

    Mistakes in order of significance.

1 He should have moved to Vegas a month prior to the NFL season which apparently is his strongest sport. Spent 2 weeks drinking, entertaining and chasing skirts and 2 weeks sobering up and straightening out.

2 His wagers are too large for his bank roll.  Mighty OAK trees grow from tiny Acorns.  Dropping 5K out of 30K was a Las Vegas Chainsaw massacre.  If he would of won that wager, it would have been blown on extra-curricular activities and no lesson would ever have been learned.

3 He should have told his family and friends that he would love to see them after he had been there for 6 months.  He would have had a more stable disciplined system in place and more padding in his bank roll.

CG has talent, charisma, guts.  Correctly harnessed with DISCIPLINE, this guy can pull this off. It will be interesting to see if he can salvage his dream.  He needs to tighten his wallet and open his ears.  I personally am rooting for a turnaround and a well earned grind back to profitability.

Hutch you are really making a fool of yourself and you don't have the slightest clue that you are.

I capped that game up and down (something CG does not do).
I wrote it up extensively (something CG does not do).
I was commended in the thread by several posters about the write-up, one who said it was the best he has ever read on covers (does not happen to CG and almost certainly never will).
It is an Ivy League championship tie-breaker, not a nightly NBA game. They happen once a year and that's if they even happen with a tiebreaker. I don't have to skip that game because I stated a general rule to an average NBA CBB capper.

I had the line at 1/1.5 and knew the game would be very tight but Harvard would win.

All of this came true. Not only did it come true, I explained this in detailed fashion in a write-up.

CG is not a good NBA capper and his CBB capping is average at best. Football? We'll see if he makes it there. He's had succes in the past. On a nightly basis, if you want to screw with tough games, cap them at a 7-10 win if you lay the 1.5. Leave no doubt.

For Ivy League tiebreakers where you have an entire week to cap the game, and given the game comes around once a year if it even does, the rule can get amended.

Why do I even have to explain any of this to you anyway?

I have tried to help this kid up and down, tried to warn him about 6 straight losses, one a 5K bomb and he ignored everything.

You've done nothing in this regard. And you come to me to pick apart my advice to him? A coked up capper?

So please keep posting your SARS comment about my Harvard win. It only brings more attention to a meticulously written thread with a winning outcome.

If you were such a good capper you would stay away from this game if you capped it so close to the number.

If you so great at capping why not find a better play not so close to the number.

Once again your talking out your a$$ and I am glad everyone is getting to see it now!

Just heard on Dan Patrick show that Harvard ended Yale's football, hockey and basketball seasons this year.

Were you aware of that Scal?

Of course, you completely ignored the fact that you ADVISED CG to only take MSU at -1.5 team if he capped them to win by 7-10.  You even said it was the "secret" to betting those types of games.

Yet you have zero faith in his ability to cap a game as you have said time and time and time again.

You have said he's a bad capper so by definition, every play he makes is a bad one unless it's by pure luck.

But you said the secret to winning a bet FOR HIM on a -1.5 favorite like MSU is capping them to win by 7-10.

It's just brilliant on your part.  You've rigged the whole thing to make you look good.  I shouldn't be surprised....you're good at that sort of thing.
