This was a great week for us last year riding the relatively unknown McCartney Kessler and Linda Noskova pretty much the whole way to titles in Cleveland and Mexico.
These are the tournaments I love. The week before the US Open so not many top players but tons of mid level and up and coming talent that's ready to eat. I like the draws at both tournaments again this year.
Let's get it.

From what I can tell Boisson has never beaten a top 100 player outside of the dirt. She has a couple career ITF wins over top 300ish players on hard.
She also runs around the majority of her backhands on clay, something that will be practically impossible to do on fast courts with a lefty whipping forehand coming into her backhand wing. That's my theory at least, she's never played a tour level match against a lefty so hard to find any stats to back it up.

Was leaning Boisson but went with your pick, great call! I thought Boisson's power would be a bit too much too handle but damn Teichmann had some really impressive rallies. Of course the Tennis Channel feed cut out for most of the second set too so I missed when she was playing bad lol.

Yeah, same here. After the first set I was feeling pretty good about winning in straight sets and no stream to see what happened in the second set but her 1st serve % dropped to 40% in that set. Hopefully Teichmann getting a top 50 win will overvalue her enough where we can fade her against Cirstea next round though.

Jil "4-0 against Cirstea" Teichmann looks cooked out there. She breaks Cirstea the first game of the match then lets Cirstea reel off 10 straight points and 6 straight games.
