 How the heck is Pegula only -156? Her odds were higher against higher ranked opponents in Schneider and Kalinskaya? I’m so confused.

I'm hoping Eala earns her first WTA victory over Pegula. This is a tough test, but she's been improving with every match. It won't be easy, but if she handles the big moments, stays solid on return, and keeps the rallies on her terms, she has every chance to pull off the upset

 The odds have creeped on up a bit within the past hour. Eala gets more fan support than anybody on tour and I think that ends up being reflected in the betting markets as well. Add to that the fact that Eala has won consistently this week as a dog so you have many still trying to ride that wave.

So I'm not really surprised about where the odds are at but because of those factors I think that you end up with a situation where Pegula's odds have a bit more value honestly. But I definitely can't blame anyone wanting to back Eala either. If it were me and I was looking to back Eala I would probably try to get a good price on +3 or 4 games, possibly live if you find the right spot. That way you're likely covered if Eala serves for it but can't close out or something like that. Pegula is really going to want this one badly.

Playing a lefty yesterday probably not a bad thing either for Pegula today either

Incredible run. If only some of our favorite top 30 players had the nerves and demeanor that 16 year old possess.

Vidmanova was unbelievably good this week too. Literally nobody was able to get through her serve until today. And because of that I would've backed Vidmanova today against the majority of top 100 players. So you will understand that a bit of doubt did creep in after that first set. But thankfully our girl put them to bed quickly and emphatically. That girl has really got it.

It's been too long since we've been able to find a hidden gem early and ride her all the way across the finish line. Let's do it again soon.

 Like I said earlier, I really thought this was Pegula's match to lose. 

But as the time continues to tick by with this delay I keep thinking more and more about a potential rain delay special. Especially with where the match sits with the scoreboard pressure as Pegula will need to come right out and defend her serve. Meanwhile Eala will certainly be looking to come right out and immediately flip the match on it's head. And even if she doesn't get the break right away Pegula will continue to face the pressure the rest of the set as long as Alex can hold.

For me the better bet if I fire would likely be set 2 ML (+125) as I would still expect Pegula to fight right back in the third. Pegs 2-1 (+300) is in play too.

Same situation could apply to Ruzic set 1 too (+650)
