    It is funny but both men and women semis there is only one top 10 . Is it a coincidence? well, I guess is a mix of inconsicenty of key players due to injury.Besides, tennis is a sport more physical than before  and also the number of games matches played within ATP/WTA calendar are affecting the players.

    So the level of the semis is quite weird and far low in comparisson to other years- Arnaldi and Chwalinska are out of the top 100

    That is one of the biggest appeals of tennis imo ! I think it is mostly due to how few dominant players there are at the moment - in ATP we have gone from 4 to 2 - in WTA we have gone from 3 to none (none is so dominant they can win on their off days) ! - so Alcaraz is out due to injury and Sinner is out due to heat - and suddenly the finale is everyone’s game

    Btw tennis rankings are the biggest noob trap on the planet - they are close to meaningless unless you dig into why a player is placed low on it

    Don't mention the frogs - we don't want to scare the toddler - we want him to sleep

    As we know so are tennis odds placement i.e. Player #1 Ranked 33 vs. Player #2 Ranked 77 never played before however not even matching current form Player #1 is a -350 fav an_light

    from a betting perspective they are 100% meaningless - I have only ever seen the market overreact to difference in ranking - it is never a good idea to bet on a player because her rank is better (if you want to beat the market - you need to find info that is not easily available or information that is harder to quantifiable - if a player has a hard time playing lefties for instance) - don’t fool yourself that easily available information like ranking can make you profitable versus a multibillion dollar betting market

    @Calde13

     This is a fun fact (scary) and  I wanted to highligh the low level of tennis,competence, appart from Alcaraz, Sinner, Iga and Sabalenka. The rest of players are far away at the moment. Those players are out due to injury right now and yes, so many players have been reporting the high number of matches played throughout the year, the gap in  earnings between best and those from 80th position, the percentage of earning they get from ATP/WTA...etc. so now you face one of the best Slams for me with only 2 top 10.

    Ranking in tennis is one the key factors in tennis, trust me, I play tennis. You earn your position in one year so it is the level and place you belong. As you mentioned, not everything is your ranking: injuries, form, clay, weather, close or open roof, skill, matchup...etc and yeah. For instance today, Chwalinska is low ranked than Schnaider  but due to her level right now is above her ranking & clay clourt player so odds are almost even. There are many factors that are included in the market.

    I think my bets are focused on value not ranking as you can see here in my post.

    That is actually a pretty good example (I thought mostly on some Serena Williams matches in the past - because the market almost religiously priced her wrong due to her name/ranking - I think it took 3-4 years after her prime it started adapting slightly)

    But ye Sab. had most likely won that match yesterday if it was Swiatek or another top player (after winning the first set) - but if it is a lower ranked player that wasn’t expected much of a chance going in - they sometimes say “screw this let me go out with a bang” and then suddenly they win the set - and the big favourite gets nervous ! Literally happening on the dailies

    Sabalenka came from injury, her level was not that high and it was almost impossible to win with her current conditions. You see how she handled the end of the match,nerves, without confidence because of her last month of competition. Besides the windy conditions.

    Yes, the market always put the favs with good numbers even if they know the chances are lower. That is th reason to no bet with favs, parlays, or whatever you do. My strategy is to reduce the number of bets in a week and more stake.

    Patience is Virtue. If you can hold out and wait for that right pick it can do you justice ... Kicking myself for not waiting for Game 1 last night to unload on NY ... Ate some of my bankroll up during the week on the French ...

    @PAbronco

     The more you bet the more your chances of bankrupt. I know friends , good bettors, poker players and just a tiny percentage do not tell me their problem is they can´t manage the bank account or sometimes they play more than they should. I guess, it happens to many people.

    I try to bet the best one in a day and if you lose focus on next day. If you can earn , I don´t know 1-2 units per day ( average) is between 30 and 60 at the end of the month. If you feel like you the need of betting, just bet 1 dollar or just nothing. I used to track long ago my plays on a excel and I realised that much money faded in a month due to of those bet I didn´t have planned or just overbetting

    I do limit my plays ; however my problem is money management ... I need to start using the Unit Scale or Flat Betting ... Just never was for me ... I'm more of a Risk vs. Reward kind of guy though my name still rings bells at BetCris and 5Dimes ... peace_5
