Maria has really struggled outside the grass court, 2-9 on hard this year.
Since 2018 (!) she has always lost the first game after the grass season.
last time she won was back in 2017 when she won a clay match on ITF level.
it’s also 96 (36) degrees feels like 113, at 38 I think she will struggle.
Can also see he lose the first set and quit due to the heat.
Gibson has good memories from the US, QF in Indian Wells and R16 in Miami this year.
