    I just bought this laptop
    https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220921

I advise you check out this entire website and make sure you have at least these specs:

    4gbs of ram
a 1gb graphics card starting at the gtx460m or the 5770 (although I advise you go with nvidia, theyre always better.)
an i7 processor at least  turbo boost up to 2.9 ghz
    Enough hard drive space
    And a sufficient cooling system

    Have you seen this trailer?

    Nice gaming laptop

Even though the laptop has enough horsepower to run high graphic games, does the laptop still get hot?

The most annoying thing in a laptop is the fan constantly running like a madman.  I guess that's the nature of any laptop when you're running high intensity softwares/games.

I would imagine you would need a very nice cooling fan under that thing.

Hey Lippsman, what do you think about this desktop ?

I want to be able to play the most current games and any future games   Also, I want to get a desktop that will not be outdated in the next five years or so.

Well first of all no matter what you buy today will be outdated in the next 5 years.  In fact you can make that next 2 years.

But that desktop looks allright, also checkout Dell and give the Dell refurb outlet a look.  The link is buried at the bottom of the page

I'm going to buy parts from newegg and have my tech savy friend custom build my desktop. It will be a lot chaeper than to buy the desktop at a retail store with the same specs.

I never bought anything from newegg before, so do i need to register and  do I get some type of discounts?

I'm going to buy parts from newegg and have my tech savy friend custom build my desktop. It will be a lot chaeper than to buy the desktop at a retail store with the same specs.

I never bought anything from newegg before, so do i need to register and  do I get some type of discounts?

Yeah that's exactly what I did, I bought each individual part for my desktop and then had this local store put it all together

As for newegg, all you need to do is create an account, it's very easy and I'm not sure if you get discounts but they usually have the best deals for their products.

Whatever you do don't go to or talk to the people at best buy about buying specific computer parts, they know nothing.. Ask your friend or post a comment here.

I'm putting in the Intel core I3- 2100 sandy bridge processor,  U could get an I5, but I don't see a significant increase in performance.

I'm putting in the Radeon 6770 1 GB video card.

I'm thinking about putting in 4 gb of RAM, but for 20 dollars more I can get 8 gb.

Also, I'm thinking about putting in 500 gb of HD space, but for 30 dollars more I can get 1 TB.

Those 2 upgrades are significant and much needed in the near future and for 50 dollars more, it's a steal.  My overall budget is about 700 dollars.

I have a copy of WIndows XP, so should I put in XP? or get Windows 7?

I'm also gonna get a 22" LED TV and hook it up to my gaming desktop

    Any thoughts?

Get the 1TB HD. Go ahead and get Win 7. Get the pro version where you can install the XP emulator if you ever need it.

i have an Alienware M14X laptop for gaming..

    Intel i7 2630QM
    6GB RAM
    GeForce GT555M 1.5GB video card.

So far it has handled every game I have thrown at it with ease.  It is a beast of a laptop and most games you play on it the graphics are maxed out.  It is quite heavy for a 14inch laptop and it is quite loud when gaming (which is expected).....Overall it was well worth the price and the customized lights are awesome.
