I looked  at the above briefly. Double check this, i did not look up every game just the first 8-9 on the list. If a team shuts out another, you bet (chase) that they will win one of their next 3 games (ABC martingale Chase).  What do you think????

I'm not sure now,my theory seemed to fit but he lists clev a win on 4-13 but they lost, and lad a win on 4-13 and they lost. Also they would be more wins not listed if i was right. Any one else have an idea?

I looked up a few as well.  I think he's leaving any teams alone if theres any involving east vs west. I'm going to try to look more into this to see what else he might be leaving out.

one more thought i had is to chase for the underdog maybe using  the labby line this way theres no laying big odds.

I think i have it: Wait for a shutout, then bet on them +1 1/2 , Chase ABCD.    The +1 1/2 would explain James Jones wins on certain days that the team lost. The Chase out to a D bet would explain the Orioles win on 4-14.  Now I think his record has typos or errors on purpose to throw us off: On 5-3 Mil did not play but would have won on April 30th according to my system. 0n 5-7 STL lost but it would have won on 5-8.

I only tested up to May 8th.

I'm not sure what guide line he's using or anything I tried backtesting and I don't get it.

I went thru every team record this year. If you take the team +1 1/2 runs after they shut out their opponent then they will win a game within ABCD chase (within 4 games). Only one loss San Diego but it would have won on the 5th game. Food for thought

Only problem with that is you dont always have the option of +1.5 on the RL. At least not at my book. 

I checked with 2011 games Jones lists and it looks like you only need to pick runline on your team if underdog so.... by his games he lists:
it looks like: Wait for a shutout, then bet the winner taking runline +1 1/2 only  if underdog, Chase ABCD.

So then today's plays be:

SEA (A) +1.5  -140 to win 1 unit

AZ (A) -149 to win 1 unit

right?

Did some quick calcs with -140 odds

a 3 game chase at -140 per game lost approx 14 units
a 4 game chase at -140 per game lost approx 34 units

So basically, if you can beat a 14 wins to 1 loss ratio you're in. The 4 game chase has too much juice for me to consider, personally.

Im missing something here on this thread. if he has never lost, Im not understanding the units LOST under johnnymegas' post. If he hasnt lost lost how can you "lose" anything?

I was not refering to the guy's "record" at all. I was saying that if we were to start this system from scratch right now, we would have to win 14 times for every 1 lost chase if those odds were -140 each time. Of course, they will not always be -140, I was just using that number to plug into this formula here.

I gotcha. thanks. that makes sense.  Im sure eventually it loses like all systems do.  What are the past years numbers? anyone know? this yr is so tight in mlb that it prob is doing much better than previous years due to the parity in the mlb.Im assuming these posts are correct and his record.

Hi guys -

So I had some time to do a little back-testing for May 2011 and I found some interesting things...

When doing a 3 game chase for all shutout winners, the rec was 57-3

Here's a breakdown of the losses:

Loss 1 Oakland for about 15.2 units (odds -172, -167, -113)
lost 2 at home and then the last one on road

Loss 2 Wash for about 6 units (good odds even with RL)
lost 3 in a row @ Phi

Loss 3 SD for about 22 units (odds -136, -223, -196)
lost all 3 @ home

These are rough calculations and I used a RL calc to find some odds but I think the overall data of this back-test is fairly sound.

I believe the SD loss could have been toned down a little by taking the +111 and +120 odds on games 2 and 3 instead of the RL (possible juice filter here?). You still would have lost the chase, not sure about other chases tho.


So basically, even with that horrible SD loss, the system won 57 units and lost about 44 units from May to tonight. KC is pending a C game. Again, this is only for chasing 3 games, not 4.


This might be worth trying out for a month. I'd track it if anyone else is interested in its results. Comments?

Seems to be ML if favorite, RL if dog on the games following their shutout.
