no - usually there is a reason for the line being "off" such as injuries or pace of play or similar offensive/defensive styles between 2 teams. nova and providence has a total of 174 with an added value of over 10 points. the total is so high because both teams can score and neither team defends. yesterday we had princeton and dartmouth (i think) and the total was at 108 with a value of more than 10 points as well. again, this is so low because both teams have bad offenses and good defenses. both ends of the totals extreme are not worth playing based on ppg. much like playing against the spread of ats teams that have losing ats records, i would also play against the ppg total more often than not for these extreme totals (<120 or >160)
this ppg list should be used as a REFERENCE ONLY. I played all games for a stretch of weeks this season and got hammered. I'm doing better since I've taken a closer look at the games and eliminated plays. Remember, there's no value if there are recent injuries or similar styles/strengths of plays that 2 teams play.
