Does anyone have a big enough bankroll to handle that game tomorrow?  $100 bettors could be looking at laying north of 6 grand.  That's just insane.

I'm taking the loss and moving on.  Just my luck, too.  I just replenished my bankroll and take a hit right off the bat.  I can't catch a break these days.

I'm still hopeful for 3 grand slams today over the final 2 innings..

Surely Scherzer will grab the win tomorrow, but he is up against Colon.. though generally find after a flogging the home team bounces back following game... look I'm clutching to anything here.. something..

At press time, the risk for Tigers G4 is approx $3200 to win $1710 for a $100 a game bettor.

I'm taking the loss and moving on.  Just my luck, too.  I just replenished my bankroll and take a hit right off the bat.  I can't catch a break these days.

This is why I have been betting this on a labby line and double dipping. I took some of the Detroit losses and spread them out over other lines and won with double dips on Atlanta and Boston. My risk tomorrow will be much lower.

There are still 15 series to be played (more if you double dip certain series). No need to kill your bankroll on any series/game. If you're down 15 units, spread it out to an extra unit for each of the 15 remaining series and bet something normal on Detroit tomorrow. Just my opinion. BOL all.

Stay disciplined and manage your bankroll

Detroit has only lost 4 in a row once this year and that was on the road. DET gets the money mañana.

As I said in my previous post, I meant to type $4000.  If you're "only" laying $3200 congrats, you got the best numbers out there.  I lost 22 units on this series in 3 games.

    Labouchere Betting System

Posted by Al Moe on Saturday, February 4th, 2012

The Labouchere system is a type of cancellation system for playing any gambling game — but in particular, it is known to work well with roulette. Using the Labouchere system means that players have to win less than half of their bets in order to ultimately reach a pre-determined betting goal. The only downside is that losing streaks can force players to make very large bets if they wish to continue using the system.

    How the Labouchere System Works

In order to use the Labouchere system, you’ll first need to set a goal for how much money you’d like to win by using the system. It’s usually simplest to express this in a certain number of “units” — where the unit value can be any amount you like. For instance, if you’d like to win $100, you could set the unit value at $10, meaning your goal is to win ten units.

Once you know how many units you want to win, you’ll want to break that down into some smaller numbers and write those numbers down in a line. For instance, in our example above, you could use the following number sequence:

    1 2 3 2 2

The key is that those numbers add up to ten. If you are able to cross all five of those numbers off of your sheet, you’ll know that you’ve reached your goal!

As in many systems, the Labouchere system will have you making even money bets such as odd/even or red/black. In order to determine the size of your bet, you should add the first and last numbers of your line together and wager that many units. For instance, to continue our example, the numbers at the ends of our line are 1 and 2. That totals three units, meaning our first bet would be $30.

If we win our bet, we get to cross out both numbers we used to make that bet — goodbye, 1 and 2! Our line would now look like this:

    2 3 2

Our next bet would now be for $40 (2 + 2 = 4 units). For the sake of this example, let’s say we lose this bet. Now, the number of units we just lost goes to the end of our line, making it look like this:

    2 3 2 4

Our next bet would now be for six units, or $60.

In order to see this system all the way through, you’ll need to continue making bets until you’ve completely wiped out the line. At that point, you’ll have completed the Labouchere system, and you’ll have reached the goal you set before you started.

    Advantages to the Labouchere System

The obvious advantage to the Labouchere system is that you do not need to score constant wins in order to eventually meet your goal. Since you only add one number to the line each time you lose, but you cross off two numbers each time you win, winning just one-third of the time is enough to maintain your line. Since you will win more than one-third of the time in the long run, you can feel confident that you will tend to shrink your line in the long run, eventually clearing the entire line and meeting your goal.

This system has a slight resemblance to systems such as the Martingale, in that you will have to increase your bets if you should happen to hit a losing streak. However, this effect is much less severe than in the Martingale, where your bets are always doubling. The change in bet sizes is instead much more gradual in the Labouchere, making it somewhat more manageable for most players.

    Why Use the Labouchere System

Martingale, they can get quite large; moreover, since a single win won’t bring you back down to your minimum betting amount, it will often take several large bets to get you back on track after a losing streak. In the long run, the Labouchere system doesn’t change the casino’s house edge, either, so the casino still has an advantage over a player using the Labouchere.

However, that doesn’t mean the Labouchere system for roulette isn’t right for you. This is a system that requires you to think a little bit more than others, making it feel just a bit more interactive than most other betting systems. In addition, there’s a certain excitement that comes as you get close to meeting your goal, making the Labouchere a lot more fun to play. If you’d like to play an enjoyable system that may help you stay focused on meeting a specific goal while you play, the Labouchere is definitely right for you.

Yeah, that's not for me.  I can see that turning into a nightmare with even a small losing streak.

Personally I will be playing the D bet as a repeat of the C bet, so I am looking at recovering just the A and B bets... then I will place the C bet loss onto a labby line..

.. of course this is assuming Tigers pull their fingers out..

Atleast if they lose, while it will be an overall loss to the bankroll, atleast I will still be the game without having to top up..

Money management is very crucial here..

Pain in the but cause I was on the verge of recovering a recent series loss.. such is the game of gambling.

Anyone starting with less than 100 units is asking to go broke. If you plan to follow til the E games, you need at least 200 units. Have a sufficient bankroll and play the system as intended. You'll make more money.

Yes, this system does become costly (depending on how you make your plays) if we reach a Game 4 or beyond.  However, I trust the results.  Even with that trust, I sometimes pull back and will take a loss on a series.  My play amounts on the Tigers are listed below. Have to decide on today.  If they lose today, I'll just downgrade.

    45 to win 25
    95 to win 50
    305 to win 180

Perhaps in the future I should look at a filter.  If a team is starting a homestand against a team with at least a winning percentage of at least .530 (maybe a different number), it's a no play if odds are over -150.  This Tigers series has been a joke.  Oakland is very good. Yet, Detroit has been -175, -190, -170 and -200 today.

Just something to ponder for down the road.  If anyone has thoughts, let's hear them.

My lines weren't as bad as yours.  I've had Detroit at -171, -164, -162 and -187 got early when posted last night.

Nevertheless, need Max to deal this afternoon.

    Best of Luck to all.
