I assume that you're talking about a -0.5 puckline.  That's considered a regulation line.  It reduces the juice on any game, but just means you're calling for the team to win in 60 minutes (no overtime, or shootout wins).  If it goes into overtime, or your team loses straight up, you lose the bet.

In other words, these need to be taken when Detroit is favored by a line of -275 and they win 3 - 0 .

In other related news, Phoenix is taking an absolute pounding at home as they are now down by 5 goals to Chicago.

Calgary is up 3-0.  Looks like I'll still be chasing Phoenix (should've listened to expert on that one), but hopefully will close out Calgary tonight.  I thought I might have to wait for the Islanders or Blues to come there. 

p.s. I am done with Nashville this season.  That's an official loss now, right? 

Correct. They have now lost 5 in a row with the last three being at home and all 1 goal games. A damn shame although Rinne starting was not that big of a factor as their offense taking a nap throughout these games.

So , looks like a 2 - 2 night including a new series loss making the record 73 - 2 unless San Jose comes back into the game. Will update the units tomorrow to see how big of a loss that was.

There are still two more home games in the series for Nashville (a struggling Pitt on thurs, and Chicago on Sat).  I'm still planning on playing or fading Nashville on the next game to see if I can clear that series.  Still it sucks!  Now howbout them FLAMES!!

Oh shit, right. Completely forgot about the 2 remaining games on their schedule. Don't know what is expected to be done. Perhaps stopping at 3 makes more sense since Nashville has become such an unpredictable team but you are correct, still 2 more games to the "official" chase.

 Since there was no mention about a cut-off amount of games, I'll assume expert will go on so record should be  73 - 1 ( still chasing Nashville and Calgary , anyone else? ).

Skinny, look up expert's other 2 threads about this system, should be clear enough once you read how it got to this point.    

IMHO, I think you are doing the right thing. No need to risk ll the profit on chasing more than 3 games even if Nashville ends up winning against Pittsburgh or Chicago.

At this point, you might even get burned if you choose to fade them instead of sticking to the original plays of backing them at home

 As of now, the 3 game sequence that Nashville screwed up would cost -110, +120, -153 so 8.77 units down the drain.

So what will it be? A 73 - 2 record and up 54.09 units or the 73 - 1 record where Nashville is chased all the way till their last consecutive home game?  Either way, Calgary remains a team to be chased and I'm assuming no other team is.

Also, seawhawks, how are you handling the Edmonton chase? Still planning to close it off somehow?

Guys some times i cap wrong sometimes I cap right but thats how we got to this record.
Anyways yes Calgary will be chased and they more than likely will win there next game.

I'm on Vancouver tonight to try and clear them (the Oilers) off.  Luckily you guys don't have to worry about that one.  If Edmonton wins tonight, I'll play a game 4 fade on San Jose to beat them and stop there. 

I joined when you guys were 46-0.  My only loss is Nashville (I faded the one Edmonton chase that you guys count as a loss so I won that one and am 27-1 with this awesome system).  I wish I had jumped on at the beginning of the season.  Next season I plan to be on board from the start and play it much larger.  I think this thing is gold!

I'm gonna give Nashville (-115) another shot.  They are 4-0 at home against Pittsburgh last 4 games.

I'm also still on Phoenix tonight.

Can someone give me a quick overview of this system?

Take a team on a 3 game homestand and chase them until they win?  But sometimes you fade based on expertcapper?

That's the best way imo. No need to fade bottom 8 teams, play against them on the road etc.

Just Chase good home teams and you should have only 1-2 lost when the season is over.

Yeah, start with the basic system of chasing the home team win when they play 3 or more consecutive home games. Thing is, these chases could be cut down in some cases which is when expert posts the fade plays usually inspired by horrible home teams.

JoshLewis , there are ways to cut down the juice like taking regulation lines which makes this system interesting but you are correct in saying that narrowing down the number of teams eligible  could help reduce the number of losses. However, it was stated that this system was being tracked to help develop better results later on.

Thanks man, it was a fun game to watch.  Thanks to this thread I now have NHL Center Ice (I subscribed last night on DirecTV) and can watch all the games live (beats the hell out of tracking them online).

I lucked out and played Vancouver over 2.5 goals last night too (was worried about that for awhile), nice!  Anyone playing on LA this homestand?

Great purchase, NHL is doing a good job with xxxxxx content. They also have a good deal for the online package called GAMECENTER.

As for LA, they are doing decent at home and I see good value in NOT fading them during their 4 game series. Might have a problem if it boils down to the last game against Detroit but I'm feeling a home win before that against either of the three opponents ( ANA, NJ, TB )before the Wings. I'm waiting till expert let's us now how he see's these series going before locking in my plays.

bunnell  - This is a chase system. Losses are only when we lose 3 games in a row which is a substantial loss. This explains the 2 losses so far.
