Gale Martin's MrMartingale Controlled Progressive System

Question

Remember that this is controlled progressive system, you don't raise your bet until you win, instead you stop after the 6th progression

The progression is as follows:

Bet 1 = U
Bet 2 = U(2.1)1 = 2.1U
Bet 3 = U(2.1)2 = 4.41U
Bet 4 = U(2.1)3 = 9.26U
Bet 5 = U(2.1)4 = 19.45U
Bet 6 = U(2.1)5 = 40.84U

The author of the system posted set of picks for the system and it took him only 26 picks to double the bankroll. Read all the posts at Key to the system is abiding the rules and following it with strict discipline.

Rules of the system:

Bet only on events with 1.91 (-110) or better odds. Do not randomly pick games with 1.91 (-110) or better odds. Always handicap the game and find the edge--play the side that has a win estimation of 50% or better. Best way to maximize profit is to bet on good underdog odds with a win estimation of 50% or better. My picks for this system have average odds of about 2.40 (+140) and because of this the system is highly successful.
All bet amounts are for "risk", i.e. use the unit amount given in the bet table (bet1=1unit, bet 2=2.1units, bet3=4.41units, bet4=9.26units, bet5=19.45units, bet6=40.84units) regardless of the odd.
Bet on the next game only after you are sure about the result of the previous bet. Whenever a bet wins, the next bet amount is bet 1 (1 unit). Whenever a bet is cancelled or voided, repeat the same bet amount on the next bet. Whenever a bet loses, use the progression until you win. If you ever encounter a six game losing streak, start over with a new bankroll.
Do not change your unit amount until you have completed a successful session. For example, if you start at 1 unit = £10 with a bankroll of £770.60, you should remain at 1 unit = £10 until your bankroll is doubled (1 successful session). Now that you have double the capital, you may increase your unit size to £20 or you may withdraw half your earnings and increase your unit size to £15. Once you start with the increased unit size and bankroll, you should wait until you complete a successful session with the new unit size and bankroll before increasing it again. It is recommended that you select a desired unit amount and stick to it forever instead of increasing it after each successful session--increasing strategy is for those who don't have big bankroll to start right away at big unit size. It is highly recommended that you go no more than 1 unit = £100.

The system averages about 20 units of profit each week, but during baseball it is closer to 25 to 30 units of profit each week. Thats $250 to $300 a week for a bettor who wagers $10 per unit.

Lipps is right.This system has been around forever, and used for everything.Using a -110 line as you showed, you will lose 6 games in a row about 1/64 times. That doesn&#x27;t seem like a lot, but when you lose that you will be down -77.06u.Winning the other 63 time will give you &#x2B;63u, giving you a loss of 14.06u every 64 games, which is approximately -0.22u per game.

read this somewhere else.... this guy plays most picks at &#x2B;200 juice or more which means earning more than 1 unit on the later stages of your chase. he claims to gain 20&#x2B; units on the 5th or 6th stage. but this also means its a lot easier to lose 6 in a row playin underdogs and runlines. but he also claims to have 2 series of these chases running 1 over 2000 bets and another over 500. but the catch is you have to pay to get HIS selections which he inputs into this system and claims to have only lost i think 6 times combined. says the catch is to never increase unit size and you can always sustain your losses.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;sorry.... wont be me finding out if this is the 1 legit tout in america!!!!

There were lot of people in that thread hating mrmartingale but there are also some very good insights into why this system works and how this system is not a typical martingale system. He did admit that it takes usually more than 26 bet sand 10 days to double thebankroll but still, doubling bankroll with in 4 weeks is pretty good. After that run on the forum, I decided to invest $3853 to do $50/per unit. So, far its going good, if it stays good for another 2 or 3 weeks, i would be in safe zone. I think this system can work if the picks are chosen correctly. If you read that thread you would see that the dude picks the games very strategically. Most surprising thing is that he also admits that he has lost 6 in a row(most touts wouldnt). But after seeing and following the picks, I do beleive it is possible to win lot more than the occassionall lossess. Like he says this is good for a small bettor.&#xD;&#xA;As a small bettor myself with a 5k bankroll, it ws huge for me when i doubled the 770 in 10 days.

the thread that i posted was not to this website. it was a thread in another forum where he posted the picks for the sytem free until he doubled the bankroll. it had some good discussion between people who hate martingale saying the typical and other posters who made valid points on how this system actually works.

I don&#x27;t understand why he would use a martingale progression. I think its better to just bet flat 1 unit on each pick and it will be very profitable because looking at his past 200 or so picks I see that he picks mainly underdogs or pucklines with plus odds. He has been hitting just around 50% The average odd in the last 200 or so games is around &#x2B;145. Hitting 50% with such odds is same as going about 63% with point spreads. So why would some one want to use the progression and risk losing 6 in a row is beyond mesmerizing!

Martingale system is offensive money management to recoup losses by increasing stakes.  Key to success is avoiding a long losing steak which can be very costly.  Most people probably fail but a minority may succeed.

I don&#x27;t recommend any progressive style systems but i would play mrmartingale over john morrison anyday. Reading the system, Mrmartingale  runs a 6 level progression where the bet amount is fixed for each of the 6 levels (bet 1 = 1 unit, bet 2 = 2.1 unit, bet 3 = 4.41 units, bet 4 = 9.26 units bet 5 =19.45 units, bet 6 = 40.84 units) Basicly you bet 1 unit, if the bet loses, you bet 2.1 units, and if that loses you bet 4.41 units on the third bet and so on....when you win you go back to bet 1. If you hit a 6 game losing streak you just start over from bet 1 instead of going to bet 7! So this avoids losing infinite amount of money. TO run this sytem you need 77 units bankroll. He has the system described in detail in his page (its free, you can just read it there....JM pretty much charges $200 for a free system...it is not even a system that he created because progressive style systems has been there for ever).  MrMartingale picks are better because his picks have average odds of around &#x2B;140 (2.40)  most of his picks range anywhere from &#x2B;120 to &#x2B;250 in odds...and he is actually pretty good in hitting the plays. His system rules suggest that you bet the same amount in each level regardless of the odds...because of this when you win a bet in the later levels, you not only recover all the lossess from the previous bets but you end up making lot more in profit......where as in JM&#x27;s system the odds or so shitty that you always have to bet very high amount just to recover the loss. MrMartingale has lost 6 in a row 5 times for his series 1 picks (he has been doing it since 2006)...but he has made shit load of profit because he doubles the bankroll more often than losing it. I still dont recommend this progressive system but if I am to do a progressive system i would do mrmartingale over this JM scammer anyday.

My last post in this thread was Dec 2009 (the above post). Anyways, I decided to give this guy a try since he had an affordable promotion. I tested it (series 1) out with $15 per unit with a bankroll of $1156. I joined in the middle of February and since then he has put together a good amount of profit. He hasn't lost 6 in a row since I joined but there were few scary moments--6th level of the progression was reached at 3 different occasions! But he passed all 3. The guy is very selective with his picks and is not afraid to take a day or two off to wait for a better pick. Sometimes you have to make 3 bets a day, which means you have to keep track of the game and place the bets at 3 different times since you have to wait for the result of the previous bet.

I still wouldn't recommend this method to anyone bettors with large bankrolls but if you have a small bankroll and looking to double up your bankroll fast, this is an ideal method. I have tripled the bankroll that I allocated for his system and picks so far. Problem is that I cannot increase the unit size because if the loss eventually comes it would increase the rate of loss. The catch is to stick the same unit size through out in order to be successful. Right now, even if he loses 6 in a row twice during the next two weeks I would still be up since I have already tripled up. But If i am to double my unit size then I would lose most of the profit, and that why I am sticking to the same amount.

You can use that method with your own picks or his picks. Just google mrmartingale and you will find it.

Had a good example of why using plus odds works in this system. He hit a 5th game with +150 odds this weekend.

According to the system he says RISK the following amount for each level regardless of the odds.:

Bet 1 = U
Bet 2 = U(2.1)1 = 2.1U
Bet 3 = U(2.1)2 = 4.41U
Bet 4 = U(2.1)3 = 9.26U
Bet 5 = U(2.1)4 = 19.45U
Bet 6 = U(2.1)5 = 40.84U

So this weekend when he reached the 5th bet with +150 ods, the bet amount was risking 19.45 to win 29.18 units.

The win brought in 29.18 units plus the 19.45 stake back. The previous losses in the previous 4 games added up to 1+2.1+4.41+9.26=16.77 Units.

So the 5th bet brought back the 16.77 units plus additional 12.41 units.

This is what Mrmartingale system was talking about when he says that the rate of doubling the bankroll with his system is much higher than losing a bankroll. By playing value dogs with the system rules, he manages to double the bankroll roughly each month.

I think you missed his rules for the system. He suggests that you play &#x2B;odd games. I have been following him recently and he often uses odds in the range of &#x2B;130 to &#x2B;150.The system also says risk the amount regardless of the odds. So if it gets to 6th bet and if the 6th bet had &#x2B;130 odds it would be 40.1 units to win 52.13 units. Same thing happens in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th bet etc. So when you win those bets the return is high and that&#x27;s how he is making profit even after losing 6 in a row. The plus odds and the rule of risking the units helps you double the bankroll faster than losing 6 in a row.

this weekend there was a 5th level bet with +230 odds.

Risk of 19.45 units on +30 brings 44.7 units.

44.7 - (1+2.1+4.41+9.26) = 27.93 units.

That is a profit of 27.93 units with that bet alone. It is not risk 19.45 units to win 1 unit...that would be the case only if he strictly plays -110 odds. This guy consistently plays +150 and higher odds.

The rate of profit is much higher than one would imagine even if there is occasional 6 game losing streak.

Not sure if it&#x27;s the same guy, but I ran into this system about 3 yrs ago.  The tout was charging $40/wk for his picks.  I tried it on my own, setting aside 77 units and using the above mentioned Martingale variation.  I went through one successful double-up rotation, then I raised my unit size 10%, and the shit hit the fan about the middle of the 2nd go-thru and I lost 77 units and that was that.  Live and learn.  Maybe I should have paid for the guy&#x27;s picks, but I just don&#x27;t trust the system.
