hey zebra,I am also a don't player. did I understand you to say you lay off the next roll if player makes a point? on a choppy table wouldn't that cause you some issues? ex. makes point you lay out , he then 7 out you back in for next roll. he then makes point, you lose and lay off next roll which he 7 out, which cost you to miss win. just curious as I always like to hear about others successes. I tend to play the don't and then escalate after the shooter is on a run, cause we all know the 7's will eventually right the ship... to your point I knew a guy who would stand for hours at the table playing the don't only. if the shooter made 2 in a row, he would sit out until he 7 out. then go back in action. I always position myself in a corner to keep low profile......

concerning your 3.00 hedge of any 7 to protect 10.00 don't play:
I have hedged with the following, because I hated the consistent loss of 3.00 when the 7 was fortunately staying away;
20.00 don't pass
lay 41.00 no 4
if 7 shows no harm as it is a wash.
if 4 shows I lose 41.00, and still have 20, don't against the shooter making 4.
any other point, I immediately take down the no 4 play, as it was strictly a hedge against the 7 on come out. I think the odds of 7 showing as opposed to the 4 are 3-1 which would make a plus 19.00 under normal expected showing over time.{lose 41.00, but save 60.} I like sharing ideas, and have others as a hedge for playing the don't. your thoughts?
