i understand the reasons you said what you said and i feel that many more people feel the same way you do but it doesnt make it any better to display those thoughts.

let me share somethin with ya bro. when my grandfather died he left me an original COLORED sign from a bathroom door when he was little. he shared stories of the way things were for his grandfather and my grandmothers grandfather so for some people to say it doesnt affect a person generations down the line is just not true.

they say no to affirmative action knowing that the starting points in life here in america was played from two different lines. one was in the house and the other in the field. one was on a horse with a shotgun and the others plowed the fields. one was afforded the chance at learning and the other was not. this behavior lasted for many generations with nothing to show for it. and to be honest i say fuck affirmative action because i dont want you to give me shit. if it's not meant for me i guess i just wont have it. dont wanna be anywhere i am not welcomed. thats why i attended a historically black college, and my girls will too.
true, many people will say "that was too long ago for the effects to continue to come through but in all reality it's not. you have to think about it chance. we didnt speak the same tongue nor did we have similar cultural beliefs. i know i know people say well the africans gave their people away for some change but that was due to the thinking of slaves being able to maintain their standards of living, not being stripped of all former activities as human beings.
and if you didnt know, of the millions that came from the slave trade, only 15% were given away by other africans, we didnt come willingly.
well, long story short i hold my ancestry close and the struggles of my people that died and suffered at the hands of a people that wants me to wipe the slate clean. i just cant bro. it's not in me to turn the other cheek. i'm not built that way. not now not ever.
and if by chance i see anybody else thats on my friends list typing the words you did i would eliminate them too. i am not holding a grudge against you my man, but i cant rest easy knowing it's in you to be that way either.
