2014 RPI SYSTEM

That SF loss to Colorado may have been the most painful chase loss I have ever suffered with them blowing 3 late, legitimate leads against a team that this weekend gave up 3-runs on a wild-pitch and tripped jogging to HP that cost them the game.

With that out of my system, I was going to play SF on a 3-game chase tonight since the RPI is pretty close to qualifying.  The numbers will be coming down in a few weeks anyway.

I'm actually a little surprised the line is as low as it is. -165 for Cain at home versus an emergency starter that batters in the minors are hitting .356 against. The SF run line of +140 looks good as well in my opinion.

Tomorrow is when I will need the stones.

I do not have faith in the Giants at this point and I am letting the loss go.  Last nights game cost me as much as the entire COL series but to continue would put nearly the rest of my bankroll at risk.

Time to starting grinding away again.

That was brutal last night. I think the best bet right now is doing any type of chase on SD on the under. 24 overs against 49 unders this year. They had two 3 game streaks on Overs. I'm personally pounding these.

No plays again today. Too much parity. We will see if there are any plays on Monday.

The home team is 8-0 in ump Dale Scott's last 8 Fri. games behind home plate re: Col. - and  red-hot is Milw.

Once again, no plays. The lack of plays is pretty concerning.

Possible play Friday depending on RPI movement. We need to keep on eye on Atlanta as a possible play vs AZ. We are 2 points away so maybe an AZ loss today gets us there.

I will be traveling on Friday and not able to run the spreadsheet. Can someone please post if Atlanta will be a play? If AZ wins today, it probably won't matter

Since there is so much parity this year, it might be time to consider applying the post all-star break criteria of 42 Away and 35 Home. 

Teams have passed the 81-game mark, and in reality, are already in the 2nd half.

Detroit +38 against TB would qualify for this and there is the possibility of a double-dip since it is a 4-game series.

Of course, bending the rules is a matter of your own personal risk appetite.

IMO never fuss over or press the number of plays. Your approach will yield a  play and if not just looking for action, why worry if they're are any plays. Wishing you continued success with this.

Monday - No plays, Milwaukee just missed by a point and I won't blame anyone for playing that series. I will not make it an official play based on the rules.

Given the current RPI numbers there will be no plays this weekend following the break. Monday could have action (Detroit).
