2014 RPI SYSTEM

Sunday results: SF loses on the C game.

Starting to have my doublts about this system. Last year was bad and this year is starting off even worse.

Record: 15-3

• A: 9-9
• B: 6-3
• C 0-3

Yeah even going down to playing 2 games from the official B bet is not working too well. Even with a recovery process in place.

I pulled the plug before this Rockies series started, pleased I did.

There is too much parity so far this season. Teams under performing and others over performing is not a good recipe for this system.

Thanks for running it otherwise danrules, bang up work as usual.

Goodsy - What type of money mngmt. do you use, and how does your recovery process work? 

 

I have played this system the past 4 years I am not so much concerned about the two losses but I am concern about the amount of plays. There are not a lot of plays qualifying this year I guess due to,parity. Usually we end up with just over 100 wins and a couple of losses but that will not happen with the amount of plays that's are qualifying.   I do not suggest changing the filters of the system unless espn changed the way the rpi is calculated. If the volume picks up we could get a profit out of this if not we might have to monitor the rest of the year and see if things change next year

The only thing that saved me was making an in-play bet, S.F. was up 2 nothing with bases loaded so I put a little on Col @ really good odds. Saved my bacon. My life isn't centred on this system alone, so I accept its protean nature. Here's hoping things improve in the coming months.

i have been playing several systems, including this one so far this year. basically flat betting with a few chases here and there has turned profits. once i make a gain i re -start all chases. has been working well so far. just gotta creative and use some handicapping knowledge too.

Thursday: Oakland A game.

Oakland has been hitting the ball well as of late and Kazmir is pitching.  This should give Oakland a good chance for a win.

Agreed.  Besides, Peavey's Amp's blown a June-Fuse!

Boston’s Jake Peavy in June away team starts is

1-7 his last 8, and

5-12 in his last 17 ,

including 5-14 in his last 19, and

0-4 with a 7.63 ERA the last four.

Thursday results: Oakland wins on the A game. Since this is a 4 game series they are back to an A game Friday.Doesn't look like any other Friday plays. If that changes, I will post again.

I think ESPN is messing with the RPI numbers. Can anyone explain how Oakland qualifies against Boston on Thursday, wins the game and then doesn't qualify again on Friday? Doesn't make any sense.

Oakland is still an A game play today.

Boston's RPI number went up a tick while Oakland's stayed the same.   Hmmpf.  (Data from MLB History tab in the spreadsheet)

While Boston's RPI increasing after a loss is a bit counter-intuitive it appears the RPI viewed this as a "good loss" and on the road as well.  Boston's SOS jumped as a result of this game which enhances their RPI rating.  And the increase was only one one-thousandth.  An increase that small is just a statistical quirk.  Let's get the A's again tonight!

Interesting pitching match-up for this game. I think I'll play the over instead of an Oakland win.

Friday: Oakland takes car eof business and wins the A game. Back on Monday.

Monday - No RPI Plays.

I am considering picking up the SF chase from the series they lost to COL.  They are home against SD and have started to win again.  Somebody talk me out of it.

I was thinking of doing the same thing, but hesitating.

I just bought the ticket.  70% on the ML and 30% on the RL.  If they both cash, the COL series loss is a wash.

I can't see them getting swept at home back to back, or by SD. I will say however, there have been a lot of things happening that I didn't see coming this year.
