Does knowing a team's interest or lack of interest in a bowl game enter into your thinking when making your bowl selections? It has been a factor in the past and it will be one this bowl season. The hard part is determining who those teams are. Last year we had an easy call with USC not showing up. This year??

It would certainly be something to consider if it was obviously apparent, esp. if when a coach quits before the bowl.
"Intangibles" like that are important, but subjective. Aside from key injuries which I give a cursory look to, I also look at certain bowls that may be more of a "home game" for one team over their opponent. In those games I will weight the teams stats accordingly.
Aside from that, I try not to second guess the system's values. I'm sure many of you know a great deal more about the teams than I do. I've only been following/handicapping football for the past 10 years, baseball for 26 years. I love the sport but I don't "follow" it like many others. I don't do fantasy. I do this to make money, hopefully. Otherwise, I would just watch the 49ers, Stanford, and a few others and be content.
Once I list my bowl selections, I hope you and others will offer any info that would not be considered in my system's stats.

I'm still tweaking the details for selecting the NFL games with these systems. It's a matter of selecting the right combination of statistical data from the groups of info within each system and then finding that sweet spot of plays vs. win %. NFL and college don't follow the same criteria, similar, but not the same formula.
Anyway, the NFL looks promising. I'm glad I made my regular system plays today.
