WORLD CUP TODAY PLAYS (6/12)

Tournament:  2-0 (BIG PLAY: 1-0) 

For context, and so there aren’t a lot of inquiries, all the big plays are two units (win or lose.) and that is why the record is 2-0 vs 1-0  Big playa are then also separated so you can subtract them to get overall wins/losses.  Now to the game..

On paper, it seems as though this would be a triumphant win for Canada, a team that has never won a game in the World Cup. But in actuality, I’m not sure if that’s as much a certainty as their record playing in Toronto might show (they have only lost once ever when playing in Toronto).

As for the Bosnians, you might think they’ve had an incredible run to qualify when just looking at their result, eliminating Italy from qualification and doing so themselves. And there is actually some truth to that as they did pretty well in  the qualifying stages only having sputtered due to having been placed into a rather tough group. The Bosnian’s can score and do so almost every game. With the Canadiens not having Alphonso Davies playing- and anchoring their defense-I don’t see a way the Bosnians do not get on the score sheet today.

At the same time, I feel as though the Canadiens have enough in offense and with a home backing to also get on the score sheet. I’m very tempted to play the over again, but I can also see a game that might end in a tie. While I don’t always embrace trying to predict whether both teams will score, I think today’s game produces another great value given the analysis above.

Why anybody would trust anything involving Canada before they prove it is wild but good luck

Well, and this will sound pompous so I'm sorry, but I crush soccer.  Have posted for years winning in the individual leagues but it's tough for me living on PST to wake up and assess early European games lineups so I'm not as consistent.

As for trusting any of these teams, I think you really just need to look at the matchup and QUALITY of players.  Bosnia NEVER has a clean sheet and always seems to score.  Canada are getting the home bump I was hoping for.  So it was a good spot to take a shot on a very short line again.

I will for sure SMASH Czech vs. South Africa next game as the African side is going to be missing two starters from an already crappy starting 11 in a must win game vs. the Czechs.

For this upcoming game between Paraguay and the USA I have a deadlock winner but it's just so hard to post with the odds.  But I'd also like to book some additional profits heading into the weekend.

I'll begin by saying, gun to head, I think this game will draw.  But alas I am an American with some French roots and for that reason it's just so hard for me not to bet with my heart the opening game of the World Cup in my own country.  I also think that the game will stay UNDER, as most have already, but if there are goals scored it will NOT be for Paraguay.

In fact, Paraguay was netting an average of 0.78 goals per game during the qualifiers, the joint-lowest of any side to reach these finals.  And the U.S. defense, while not shutdown, is stalwart enough with Chris Richards, Tim Ream, Serginho Dest, and Antonee Robinson.  You also get Tyler Adams coming back to help.  So I am not seeing the Paraguayans scoring more than 1, if that.  

At the same time, Im not sure I see the USA scoring at will against a Paraguayan defense that was very very good during their qualifiers.  While the USA did in fact beat Paraguay in late 2025- they have since gone back to some of their losing ways- the Paraguayan team will line up slightly differently this time around and they have also been playing really well of late heading into this tournament.

On top of all of this, the USA has done surprisingly well in their opening World Cup games (have not lost their opening stage game since 2010 1W 2D) while Paraguay have struggled mightily (1W 4D and 3D).  All of this data I think is useful despite the years in between those teams and the current squads.  

The USA will have the confidence of having beaten Paraguay late last year as well as the "extra man" with a crowd of 80000 in LA.  BUT, the USA has NOT done very well playing IN Los Angeles of late (something I would have thought the USSF would have considered) and seem to let us down on the largest of stages, especially when talking about soccer.  I am paying the price and dropping this bet with great confidence.  A 2 unit loss to the record if it loses as well.

DRAW OR NO BET USA (-220):  The odds on taking the USA dropped and the take back on the draw remained the same.  I'm not sure what that says but I'll pay to hope the USA wins and if they draw, at least have some action to live until tomorrow where I have a couple of BIG PLAYS.  Would be nice to have some more profit so....USA!  USA!  USA!

Wish I had more confidence but I don't want to see them content with a point and me distraught and telling myself "I told you so".  As always, tail or fade, good luck to all...
