The regular soccer forum is full of some really good guys that share information and ideas and really try to make everyone a winner.
Not saying the WC guys are not good dudes, but it is definitely a different crowd.
Some good points guys. Sorry I can be an idiot at times. Well actually I am just an idiot. Whiskey, I actually think people are insane betting EPL or Champions league. I really do. World cups are tough enough to cap but EPL and Champions leagues are punters grave yards. I wouldn't post my EPL plays or CL plays (except once in a blue moon when I get a big feeling) because if I did no one would even open a thread I started after awhile.
So why get annoyed when people don't appreciate what I do? Posting winners is a skill that takes patience and enormous perserverence. Guys like Vanzack that post alot of winners regulary, I take my hat of too, but I make my living by betting BIG on a play I truly believe in. I think 5 years ago, I went 6 months without a decent bet as I couldn't find anything.
What do I then for every big play I make?. I do a full writeup before and after the play (win or lose) in a Ledger. If you look at covers search engine, I have had 3 BIG plays that lost (that I had alot of money on) BUT well over 20 that have won. Let me get an article, I wrote a few years back, which is a lot more professional then this post that I am currently blabbering on about. Everything I do is tracked and monitored.
Not working for a living can be very stressful. It can be quite tough seperating your emotions and learning to make the right play more often then not. For example, I bet 10k on Federer in running today. Why? Because it's tough for a guy that was 1/200 (-20000) on pre match to get the final point to beat a great champion and so it proved. Now shocks happen, but more often then not a great champion finds away to win and so this game proved. Live betting is something I normally don't partake in as I haven't analysed the game/situation properly but alot of what professional gamblers do is play on your gut. It sounds easy betting the greatest player in history 2-0 down, but when its your money then its quiet hard to pull the trigger. I have nothing but respect for guys that make a good living by doing this.
For example people may ask what did I do to become a professional gambler? Well since 1996, I noticed I had quite a knack to pick a boxing match. I made a nice bit of profit. Then I saw a bet I just couldn't get away from -> https://www.covers.com/postingforum/post01/showmessage.aspx?spt=39&sub=797502 . I was never more sure of anything in my life. I Organized a large bank loan with the help of a rich mate (told them a sh!t load of lies etc etc etc). Got the loan approved, Spoke with people in ladbrokes, signed what it seemed like a million papers and placed the bet specified in the article above. Now if it loses then, well I am ruined in EVERY way and I can't even imagine the consquences, but sometimes you just have to back yourself. I wasn't married at the time, I had enough of the 9-5 lark and was just 100% sure in my convictions on that bet above. It was a crazy certainity, I have never experienced before and may never experience again.
The nerves I experiened for that whole fight were undescribable. I have since been in that spot twice more (the only times I have been really wreckless gambling). For Khan against Kotelnick (again in boxing) and Paquaio v Hatton (again). Luckily they both won extremely easily. Thankfully now I never have to bet my roll on anything again. It's not glamorous by any means. Yes I have my house/car paid for, but I don't make Hundreds and thousands a year. Last year for example I made just over 50k. I had a huge win on Wimbledon last year (https://www.covers.com/postingforum/post01/showmessage.aspx?spt=38&sub=100476011) but then lost a big chunk of that amount on -> https://www.covers.com/postingforum/post01/showmessage.aspx?spt=39&sub=100614122.
This year is better so far but still it can be a grind and losses are part and parcel of the game. I live a fairly simple life. Moved to the Canary islands for a few months of the year, get some sun and live quite cheaply. The days of the flashy cars are long gone. Do I recommend anyone do what I do? Yes, if you are completely insane maybe. I don't think you can be normal to risk what I did and I except that. Most people lose money doing what I do. 9-5 is safe, reliable. I just can't live like that and need the adrenaline, thats what I live on.
Anyway I am rabbiting on now. That Federer Bet was SO close to losing. If I lost while I would have been annoyed, I would except the loss, evaluate why I made the play, where the play went wrong and then take 3-4 days off before looking to cap again. It might be 3-4 months before I find a bet that I go for again in a big way or 4 days (like the Brazil v Ivory Coast bet).
I'm sure I will post a loser(s) to a big play on covers in future. I always come back and apologise, but I promise you guys if you tail me (especially in Boxing) you will make profit in the longrun..
I love it here. I can't explain why, I just do. I love the thoughts of helping people make some money.
Now no more silly posts from me...
