    Yawn.

Do you understand that this is a round robin 1st round for the world cup?

Teams would love to come away with 1 point rather than 0 points hence all the draws your are seeing in the opening games. Now the second round games you wont see many draws because teams will be playing for the win trying to advance to the later stages.

But i guess you wont understand that.

Any sport that promotes teams to play for a TIE, needs to have its rules rewritten.

Then again, you are a cubs fan.

No one promotes the TIE, it's teams playing it safe in the 1st round.  Is it really that hard to understand?

What makes me laugh is that these guys actually argue how bad soccer is, when nobody cares. ESPN use to make fun of soccer also, but look at them now.

Can someone explain to a soccer novice how the best players in the world commonly miss the goal by 10 yards or more. They look like blind men throwing frisbees.

I've said it before, don't take this competition as how good/bad soccer can be.  Personally, the World Cup / Euro Cup gets WAY too much hype.  Go and watch a good Champions League game, far better than this crap.  Did you watch the Champs League final between Inter and Bayern? Very entertaining game, miles more entertaining than this.  That's the problem, everyone hypes the World Cup, but it always produces a sub-par product.  Club soccer is MUCH better.

The UEFA Champion League has some of the highest paid players all on one team. The World Cup has the best players playing for there nation. Not the same, alot of these players are now playing against there club teammates.

No surprise here just more willful almost inviting ignorance from once again the dumbest fucking country probably in the world. Just give you guys an iPod or a blackberry or a bigass TV and you don't give a shit about anything else right? Keep taking your shots at the beautiful game, it's not going anywhere and for that matter neither are we (US MNT). Keep talking shit about "how US sucks at soccer" too that only gets em more fired up!

Our national team keeps improving year after year while borderline retarded Americans want to see scores of 24-14 it sounds like. Yes it's football there's not an excessive amount of scoring, kinda the point. If you understood the game even a little you'd see the buildup and offsides trap and cheeky tackles when a team's in space and phenomenal through balls and crosses into the box and all of the things that make this the beautiful game.

As far as draws go, please tell me you can't be this ignorant. Group stage games are supposed to be able to end in a draw, again kinda the point. The draw is what makes the group stage so great too because teams that aren't very good at scoring can still take points away from games. 1 point can be very big at a World Cup, it's the reason my US MNT can win the group. I don't like draws either but it's a crucial and vital part of the group stage.

Another thing, the vuvuzealas aren't going anywhere. Seems pretty arrrogant that you people and everybody else wants them banned. This is South Africa's chance to host the Cup, Vuvuzealas are a part of their culture, FIFA doesn't give a shit what you have to say so get used to it.

I will say this though the next time you watch a match pay attention to other things than who has the ball...might just learn a thing or two.

The WC gets so much hype and then people who know nothing about the sport try to watch it and get pissed...these players don't play with each other on a regular basis...they have very little time (for the most part) to get organized and develop together as a team

in this first round of games, a lot of teams are still in that process and they don't want to be too risky in their play because it could come back to bite them in the ass later on

I agree with ICE...try watching EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga, Champions League...heck, any major club soccer in Europe is more entertaining than this first round of games has been

and I don't see what's wrong with a 0-0 game...you can have an amazing game that ends 0-0 (not all of them are...but some yes)

I find it ironic that I always see blog comments and garbage about American's not liking soccer, or finding them saying soccer is boring. Well, we all know soccer can't compete against America's finest baseball, golf and nascar racing.

This is the the dumbest fucking thing that people try and say when they encounter someone who doesnt like their beloved soccer.

Take a look at the people at these games and tell me these people arent "simple minded." More like groups of some of the biggest fucking losers imaginable, people whose whole lives rest on a fucking soccer game.

The reason it doesnt catch on in America is cuz, for the most part, its fucking boring, period. There are wayyyy more exciting sports to watch on TV than soccer. I just find it funny that soccer fans get so butthurt when their game is ripped they try and act smarter than soccer haters and that the game is just "too complex to understand." Its just such bullshit considering the avg soccer fan overseas is a fucking lifeless moron.

With all that said I dont even really think Soccer is THAT bad or boring. Its OK, im trying to get into it a little bit but its just not the "greatest event ever OMG OMG OMG" like soccer fans make it out to be.

Also, that incredibly irritating noise you have to listen to just to watch a game makes me wanna turn it off after a few minutes. Id mute it, but Id kinda like to hear what the announcers are saying also. Who knows. Theres just a lot of reasons to NOT like it, its not just everyone isnt smart enough to understand

As they said on Preston and Steve show (if someone knows who im talking about) if your an american you might not get into soccer and see it as a boring and slow sport. BUT, the same goes for american sports that Europeans think it boring like NASCAR, baseball and golf....
I'v yet to meet a persone in Europe that is a fan of either of those with NASCAR getting a ton of crap....
Also both american football (that I love more than anything), hockey (in some countries with Russia, Sweden and Finland beeing hockey nations.) and basketball also beeing low in popularity...
The think I always hear about US sports it that: "how the h*!l to the american manage to watch sports with commercial breaks all the time?!" In soccer you only got the 15 min break compared to football that got 1 hour of play and 2 hours of commercial...
Love hockye, love football, love soccer, like baseball...
I don't get into neither NASCAR (by far), basketball, lacrosse or golf, but I don't bash about it anyway...

Im a fan of most American stuff and usualy defend them when people talking crap out them, but with treats like these it's not hard to understand why 50% of Europe (if not more..) belives that USA is a country with just dumb and ignorant people..
