Can you explain why Messi is always wide open (like the score he just had vs Austria) even though he's the GOAT? I've been watching a lot of soccer this past week and he's the only player on any team (even Mbappe & Erling have to make moves) I see with 5 yards of space around him at all time. Weird question, I just can't fathom why the opposition wouldn't have someone plastered on him once he got anywhere near the box.

Austria sold at the end there if people watching or saw the replay.  Austria #3 just stood there and watched the ball go to his right.

You would just tire out more players than can’t keep up with them creating a bigger disparity on the field. You just have to limit those guys chances but having a knack at finding the back of the net is a gift that few have. Playing man to man (spy) doesn’t produce results.
