Don't delude yourself. Team's that can't finish will go nowhere in these type of tourneys. I had Mexico +1.5 and the Over 2.5. 'Tina will have the value come Saturday.

I lost money on URU today and so did a lot of other people (or at least pushed) but i still can't understand all this hatred for Forlan? Does everybody think that URU would be better WITHOUT him on the field? Surely not. Yes he missed some terribly open chances. We all saw em plain as day but that doesn't make him bad. A bad game, sure. But bad in general, no way.... We all saw Forlan in the world cup and Forlan in La Liga this year for Athletico... The guy can play. He's calm in possession and creates all over the field... Everyone needs to relax for a second...

I find it hard to believe that TINA will have the value on Saturday...TINA finally looked good and URU did everything but score...surely the value will be on URU... Will i play them, probably not but the value has to be on them. Time will tell

BTW - If I wasnt so interested in rooting for the US women, I would be betting against them today for the 90 mins.
You can get about even on the French for 90 mins - and that is the bet I would be on.
Classic letdown spot - and Im not sure the US is really better than the other teams left. Everyone forgets that we were taken apart by Sweden a week ago - they only remember the Brazil game - and add to that we have one of our best defenders out on Red Card susp.
I just cant see the price. But GOOO USA!

I wish you weren't right about this. It is a CLASSIC let down scenario today. Starting to question my USA bets. At the same time, i haven't been thoroughly impressed by the French either. Guess i'll just ride it out. Hopefully the US can get on the good foot fast (so i win my HT ML) and be able to somehow keep things under control at the back without having to focus too heavily on their attacking. An early goal would be fantastic from the girls...we'll see

Yeah boys, the -1.5 really hurt and anyone who had +1.5 should go and buy a lotto ticket because that was a bad, bad beat for -1.5 backers. Forlan's miss when he was unmarked in the first half (the ball that hit the post) really hurt but I still thought they should have won 3-0 at least. Anyway, another day I guess?

They have to be thought of as totally independent wagers. Even though a result might have the same meaning to both - you are making a new independent wager.
So if you like the French today - bet them.

Never said they were bad. Quite the contrary.
I was commenting on the pricces - and how they seemed to me to be greatly influenced by very recent events.
But I certainly never said they were "bad", or shouldnt be the favorite - just not a +120 favorite.

USA better be thankful that the first team French goalkeeper "didnt fit in" with the team. that was as bad of a GK performance I have seen.
Some other notes:
Rapinoe should clearly start. Come on. She comes on, and the game changes.
Alex Morgan - while being one of the best looking US players - is not good enough. She went about 1 for 20 today, luckily today her 1 was a grand slam.
Too many defensive lapses. The French couldnt finish, but they had a lot of unmarked chances in the box, and lots of unmarked longer shots too.
Go USA. Sunday should be fun. At the very end of the game, Ian Darke said "the USA is in the WORLD CUP FINAL" and for a moment I thought what it would feel like to hear that for the mens team - but I guess this will have to do for now.

I stated this in a different thread but i really think Rapinoe's strength is in coming off the bench. She isn't fast enough and until she sent in that final incredible cross against Brazil her balls were weak at best. Never on target.... She becomes great when she enters against tired legs...It neutralizes her lack of speed...Sunday should be fun to watch. Really hope its against the Japanese though... BOL
