Canada has never secured a point at the World Cup so a draw today would not be a big deal. If anything a momentum builder. On the other hand anything other than a USA opening win today would be a bit of a disappointment imo. I'm leaning USA on the ML which is currently +115. I may tackle them from a 1H and / or TT perspective as well.

In the 2nd game I like the Netherlands. Japan looked good in the lead up and have not conceded since last year I believe. That being said this is the World Cup and the Netherlands is a very challenging opponent. Should be a good game. 2 to 1 or 3 to 2 maybe for Netherlands.

I would have been comfortable playing -175 with USA on the ML. It's down to -155 now. My theory on this is that the friendly that was played earlier has resurfaced in discussion thus swaying money towards Australia. It was a physical game with Australia pushing hard. USA prevailed 2 to 1 but for a friendly match the Aussies seemed to get under the USA skin. To me that match is motivation for the USA to come out and do what they did to Paraguay. In your face football. I don't think that Paraguay match was a one off. Conmebol still better than AFC imo. Expect them to play like that until they run into a team that can match their intensity.
