Rod's Mid Week RWC

Saw the USA/Russia game last week and Russia have to be one of the most anaemic teams in the comp when they have the ball in hand. They don't seem to have any creativity in the backs to score points. Italy will be willing to throw the pill around tonight in order to get a BP but that is not their natural game. Even with clear conditions forecasted in Nelson, I see this one going under.

Japan +7.5 over Tonga

For this weekend I am on the following so far:

All Blacks -17 over France

Argentina -2 over Scotland

Will be on the UNDER in the Argentina if it is anything around 37 point range. Should be a dire game to watch with a penalty kick/drop goal shootout

100% agree on both plays, don't see Japan losing to Tonga. May even hit the for a SU win

So a lot of the Pacific Cup tournament in the lead up to the WC last month and although many of the countries were tooling around with their lineups Japs were the standout team in the tournament. Their ball movement is quick and have very steady playmaker in Aldridge and a very smart halfback in Tanaka. Kirwan has publicly stated that this and the Canada game as the ones where he believed had the best chance of winning hence the reason for him resting his first XV against the All Blacks last week.

so wat's ur opinion on taking Russia +22.5, dors not look like Italy can light up the scoreboard either

Italy could win 26-3, score a couple of tries and bunch of penalty goals

I have no real opinion on the cap. It will be a question of whether Italy can rack up a score or not.

England to make the final @ 3.10 and France to make the final @ 3.30 looks like cracking options. Split it equally between the 2 and you should come out on top.

If all goes to plan it will be an England/France QF. England are a bit of a bogey team for France so not really confident either way as to who would come out from that game.

England is +1200 and France is +1500, but tho they might make it don't see either of them winning it

Damn it. I have Russia +22.5 as the final leg of an accumulator I planned to hedge. In the time I've been doing the maths the line is now 23.5. Don't know if I can bring myself to do it in the slim case Italy wins by 23...

Im on Russia mate and big play for me as well. Had a look over and Russia look like good value.
