So if an outside employer comes to you and offers you three times the salary you're currently on to leave your current employer and come work for him, are you pissing on your current employer ?
The only people "pissing" on anything at the moment are the mugs who run this code. They've been "pissing" away many of the NRL's most talented players through their poor management of the game for years.

Your example would be more pertinent in this example:
"A rival company offers me triple my current pay and I accept it. I will be staying at my current company and leaving in 6 months. Do I seriously expect that my current employer will send me on the big business trip to represent us in place of the new up-and-coming worker who people see will be a company director in 5 years?"
And the answer to that is NO, the company will not waste its resources on deadwood... which is essentially what Folau is to the NRL now.
NSW and Australia have used this policy for years, as soon as a player signs with a rival code or to go to England, they are immediately dropped from rep football.
NSW and Australia have both set the precedent which QLD have now freely ignored, Queensland have decided they are above the morality of it all though, winning is more important to them.

xcrap, Queensland make up rules to suit themselves.
Last week Ross Livermore said that he WOULD NOT be playing, regardless of what the selectors said. Then he plays well for the Broncos against Manly, Brent Tate cops a smashed jaw and all of a sudden this irrepressible wave of player power leaves old mate chopped liver redundant.

I honestly couldn't give a fuck if he plays or not, but my only gripe is that the Queensland side are giving AFL free advertising and in doing so taking some, if only a little bit, of the focus away from the NRL's showpiece event.
The AFL must be sitting back all fat and giggly now that Queensland have picked him.

How about a bit of thinking outside the circle...........
Now that Izzy has been snapped up by AFL, dare i say there would have been a number of people in around Aus in AFL popular states that did not know him, now imagine how many people will TUNE in to watch the game just to see who this IZZY is......
It can work both ways.......
