    NRL YTD 14-10-0 +27.35 units

It was another .500 weekend for me last weekend losing around 1 unit. Not to bad really. Have some very interesting match ups this weekend. I wonder what the chances are that underdogs keeping barking at the rate they are at the moment. 20-4 ATS to begin the season is a crazy number really. I believe that totals is now 11-13 over-under so not much in they way of a trend their.

    Picks:

    Broncos +1.5 5 units @ $1.95

This game should be a real bell ringer. Saints have been awsome to begin the season and so have the Broncos. I just believe that after the game last week saints may struggle a little tonight in a game that should be played in a similar manner. Tough hard fought in the trenches type game. Also add that fact that Broncos will be looking to right the ship after the last minute defeat to the Chooks. They will have been worked hard at training and will be looking to blow it out tonight. Saints looked a little tired last week in that 2nd half and was against a much weaker outfit that this Broncos side. If that is the case this week they will not have the ticker to stick with the Broncos for 80 mins.

    Sea Eagles +6.0 5 units @ $1.90

This game should also be an absolute bell ringer. Grand Final rematch and some might say revenge game for the eagles. Chooks just got over the line last week in a impressive win but tonight they know they are in for an absolute battle royal. While watching both the birds games last weekend in particular my brother and I thought man oh man Manly battle out a lot of hard fought games that they should win easy. But when it comes to the big time like a game tonight they really show up and play hard. Look back to the Bunnies game for example. Chooks win by 4.

    GL this round, man.

Faves will bite eventually, somewhat convinced the books who are major sponsors of the NRL have their prints all over this crazy start.

Will get bagged for saying that but if you look at some of the circumstances you'll be surprised.

Integrity of the game is at an all-time low, in saying that I ain't gonna stop betting on it.

BTW, Foran possibly out for the Seagles.

Yea i hear what you are saying and agree a little but all that is outside my control really, and i aint about to stop betting it so think for me time to move on and stop complaining about corruption.

Yea i did hear Foran probably not going to play but even still this team just plays hard in the trenches and finds a way to be there at the end of the game. Crazy really but that is their style and they do it well.

I think Chooks 1-12 margin could be a very nice play at some good value as well

The IPL has just been rocked with fixing with apparently CSK and the Royals apparently about to be booted out of this years comp. That is what the supreme court has ordered.

Makes you wonder. These cricketers are some of the highest paid sportsman in the world on a pro rata basis and yet they do this.

    Good ole human nature.

Makes you wonder. These cricketers are some of the highest paid sportsman in the world on a pro rata basis and yet they do this.

    Good ole human nature.

looks like MS Dhoni is in deep shitzki. I hope they rattle the cages of a few Indians - these guys know they hold the whip hand in cricket and are pretty much a law unto themselves

Have been doing some thinking today, Broncos have yet to lay any chalk and should be 3-0 Su and ATS last week was a poor loss. Saints are 3-0 Su and 2-1 ATS and laying chalk for the 2nd straight week. Interesting stuff.

Well here goes with another 7 unit blast at the NRL.

    Pick:

    Broncos +1.5 7 units @ $1.95 (Upgrade by 2 units)

This throws out the theory why would highly paid sports stars do anything dodgy/fix games. He is one of the highest paid sportsman in the world. He earns more than most NBA, NFL, MLB players

NRL is backwards, can't use the same ploys that you would for US sports.

Even the spreads are hard to read.

Yeah go f-ing figure - the guy probably has more money coming in than he can spend yet he opts to risk everything for a little more...

You're probably right on this one. That being said, I've just been tacking on some NCAA Tourny and NBA basketball teams with 2 team ML parlays.

Hit Florida but missed stanford so add the Suns from tomorrow with Sydney tonight.

According to the magazine, Dhoni made a total of US$ 26.5 million, of which $23 million was earned from endorsements and $3.5 million from salary and prize money. That puts him 31st on the list while Tendulkar was 78th, with total earnings of $18.6 million, of which $16.5 were from endorsements.

The Forbes list was topped by champion boxer Floyd Mayweather, who made $85 million, followed by his main rival, Manny Pacquiao, with earnings of $62 million, and Tiger Woods, with $59.4 million.

I had no idea about the ratio of endorsements, I was thinking purely in terms of salary. But even then and I doubt he would crack the top 10 in any of the 3 major US sports. NBA, forget it. There's only 5 starters and 2 maybe 3 high earners per team.

Howard earns $25.7 mill a year with endorsements. Dhoni is only $1mill off him.

As I said, Dhoni earns more than the MAJORITY  of NBA, MLB and NFL players. Not the highest obviously, no definitely not. But he earns more than the majority.

What a horribly one sided reffed match. No corruption here on Friday night.

    10-2 penalty count.

Pitting a highest earner because of endorsements against a majority of low earners who don't get endorsements isn't much of an argument.

Still, the culture of corruption in the sport caught my attention years ago.
