The more teams in contention the better for the NRL. Sharks and Souths were always going to get great support from the refs last night.
Cant let Sharks go 0-5, crowds and interest will fall in the shire and hence revenues will take a hit.
As for Souths, if they do well, the NRL is doing well.

Went with the shorter option purely as a precaution given the Storm's weak record as a double-digit fave although I think they roll by plenty.
Definite play against the numbers as the Titans are proven road warriors.
Trusting the gut.
Haven't been convinced with Storm's performance the past few weeks, went with Titans +12 instead.. but I hope Melbourne wins by 6 my friend!

The Storm just don't have the D like they used to. They built their dynasty on a defense first structure. They have changed their philosophy and it isn't working. A week after giving up 40 points to my dogs, they give up28 points to a Titans team missing ther 5/8, back up 5/8 and FB.
I don't know why they changed, but they did. They also look tired, Slater really is looking stale.

The big issue with the NRL right now is they are trying to be to much like the NFL with giving opening lines for the next week before games for this week have even begun. Just can not do that. But if you consider that many people in NZ and Aussie will more often than not bet favs blindly then right now they aint going to change because they will be raking the coin in.
For e.g many of the guys i play golf with like to have a punt and so on and when i told them on Saturday to take Titans with the points and sprinkle a little on them Su they told me i was an idiot and that Storm do not lose at home and they will blow the titans out. Right now all these lines tend to be based on they way the top 4 or 5 sides have played over the past few years and i think the talent pool is much better spread this season and for that reason the competition is a lot closer.

Love torture so riding another 'dead' favorite. JT read the team the riot act last week at the end of the Titans game, think they respond. Knights will be hard-pressed to find the mojo after last week's emotional encounter, so should warrant a flat spot. Newcastle not noted travelers also whereas the Cows are generally a strong home team. Last season off to a similar 1-3 start, the Cows responded with a 30-0 beatdown of Penrith in Round 5.

Hard to take a ML higher than -150 right now with all the upsets that have been happening. Cows cover or lose SU, imo.
North Queensland 4-1 last 5 vs Newcastle with 3 of the 4 wins by 10+ and the other win by 8.
