As a Viking fan, I went from rooting for GB to going against them in the Indy game



After a bit of redemption, taking the 52> for Sunday Night's game.

now heres a story we can all learn from....

had a fantastic weekend on the punt..  made 2k from $100..

so story goes.. last night i get quite blazed, feeling invincible i put all of my profit on NFL plays including a huge 1k play on soccer-celticSU (WON) parlayed with GB SU (LOST).

Every single NFL bet lost...

so i wake up monday morning, tired, angry - somewhat disturbed by my account balance and all that effort i made this weekend. Heres what i did..

I put $100 on this blind parlay while munching the weetbix:

MLB: Yankees -1.5 (1.95)

NBA Preseason: Golden State Warriors SU (2.80)

NFL: NO -3.5/Over 54.5 (3.80)

half a pack if winfields later.. i have a story worth telling!

i'm sure theres a moral in there somehow..

Parlay stories


I remember the first bet I played. I had to play it. I had lost my job and had maybe $20 to do something with. I lived 30 minutes from Laughlin, Nevada and I was still 2-3 years away from being legal tender. No matter, I figured I could just walk in and play and walk the fuck right out of there.

Three team parlay, all had to cover points. By the time I get the final scores, 2 of the 3 had covered, but the Minnesota Gophers did not and the last score I saw had something like 2 minutes left.

But I still had degenerate hope. I dialed the AM radio up and down and finally got a replay of highlights from a California Bear station. Every score was followed by quick analysis. They get to the final and it's the same score I saw with less than 2 minutes. With head hung low and basically broke, they intro the last highlight by saying the play had no bearing on the outcome of the game - the Gophers were just running out the clock. With irrational hope I perk up......The back broke about a 60-70 yd TD run and I cover! I cleared something like $120 and had enough for rent.

I didn't lay another bet for another 10 years. I needed rent money again and I remembered my "easy way out" the last time. Twas the '97 national championship game between Florida and Florida State.

FSU had already beaten them earlier in the season, so I took them again. They got squashed 52-20 and I got squashed to.

good yarn there.. for me, nothing comes close to the ABs 2010 loss to aussie in hong kong. The only loss for the ABs that year - down to stephen donald aka 'the beaver' who missed a penalty right infront of the sticks bang on fulltime to win the match. Me and my mate had the same 12k parlay and needed ABs 1-12 for the final play on the card.. worst bad beat ever! i will always hate stephen donald with a passion.

Missed TEX by a snap, but that equals out the 2 other totals that eeked over. I'm streaking again

Took the under 7.5 in the Detroit/Oakland game and Oak comes back and scores 3 in the bottom of the 9th to win 4-3


Already took the Steelers at -5.5, up to -6 at Center plod. My Vikes beat those Tits last weekend -  they have some issues, so Pit has decent odds of handling them.

sorry to detract, but does anyone like Oakland as the home dog to beat Detroit this arvo?? I like the play but so do most the posters on covers which is a worry. I also like the under 6.5, and Detroit team total under 3.5... Thoughts??

Navy: short week, 2nd road trip in a row, first start for freshman QB and lost 2 starters in defensive backfield.

Got the Cards/Nats game at 6.5 runs, taking the over

Nats available pen is weak

Steelers were missing 2  key defensive players, but they are beat up and getting old and it's starting to show.

After all these years I still can't understand the obstinance of head coaches in the NFL. It's like they operate scared shitless of losing at the end of a game and fulfill the paranoia in the end anyway.

One bigger pet peeve than ignorant/arrogant NFL head coaches? Teams that just do not show up. At home. C Michigan > FAIL. Then again, the NATS pen was worse than weak

Bill Belichick, Hall of Fame, multiple Super Bowls, game in hand, have the ball with less than 3 minutes, and they are so scared of losing the game, they 3 and out and hand the ball right back to the Seahawks. Bombs away and Seattle wins by 1. Eat shit.

And Yes, I had the Pats SU in that one.

Yea just finished watching that poor finish, Bill has had a few head scratchers lately
