HoH's "Get Drunk and Pick 'Em" Thread for the Weekend of 10 May

Well boys, it's time to get serious.

Since I have continued in my amazing pursuit of being the "human fade," no action (ahem, reaction) is too drastic in order to change me luck.

Therefore, I will be providing this service free-of-charge and taking one for the team.

I will be getting sh!t-faced for a majority of the weekend and then, and only then, making my tips.   

NHL Playoff Hockey, NRL, Super XV, and even the AFL, which I haven't completely settled in on yet this season.

I invite all of you to come into this thread this weekend and have your say.    Hell, maybe even have a few drinkies yourself and jump on one of the alcohol-fueled tips you'll find inside this thread. 

Win or lose, either way, you'll be too sh!t-faced to care!

My brain is telling me to take the Chiefs -14.5 at the line.  Sure, they are way better than the Farce.  Yeah!  Do it! Do it!  Doooo it!  My drunk self is saying, HA!, bu!!sh!t!  They'll probably miss a sitter of a penalty and win by 12, causing you to drink some more and tear up the new sofa.

Uh, ok.  Don't wanna tear up the new sofa now.  But I like the drinking more part.  Ah, hell.

Reds v. Shorks

The Shorks are over-rated and, quite-frankly, hot garbage.  Yeah, you might argue against me right now that they are not exactly, ahem, "hot garbage," and that is true.  But I'm drunk right now so your argument is also, quite frankly, "hot garbage."  In addition, Quade Cooper is pretty suave taking them penalties and the Shorks will most likely remember how he punched out that fat person Saffa a few months ago.  That's all that really matters in this one.

My head is saying take the nice-price $1.40 for the Reds moneyline, but my alcohol-fueled indifferent rage is laughing heartily on the inside and calling me a box, all the while flashing images in my head of men in white tights prancing around.

Well, I know this is a winner because my sober-self would be all over the Rabbits here.  ML, Line, 1-12, 13+, yadda yadda.  However, I think this is the letdown week that everyone is leery of.  740+ km of travel, facing a mid-table team, doesn't scare the mighty Bunnies.....

Poot Paawaa v. Tiggers

Like I said earlier, I haven't got stuck in the AFL yet this season.  But early on, pre-season, I made my picks for the flag (Pies) and I chose two value teams to ride as longshots.  One of them was the Roos, the other were the Power.  The Roos have to be sh!tting themselves being 1-5 yet having a positive goal differential.  They are probably wondering how this could possibly be.

(should we tell them that the "human cooler," the "living fade," tipped them up at the beginning of the season, or no?)

But the Power have lived up to my longshot-in-the-dark tip going 5-1 so far.

Ack, that's better than the Richmond Tigers who wish they could conjure up the spirit of ole Richo for another season.

Not the bravest of tips, but this one looks and feels good.  And I gotta do something about this good run of form by the Power before my cooling talents get done with North and make their way over to Port.
