Wow, Gidley single-handedly killed my NSW +7.5, thanks mate. NSW can win at home, they smashed them up the middle in the 2nd half, just need to learn how to contain the spread of the ball and the Folau leap. Sorry AB, but McManus did nothing but slip over every time he got the ball - i'd say they would do better with Monaghan.
Good win for Qld, but good game for the series - new game plan for NSW and some new refs should make game 2 a cracker.

you've got to be kidding - hoe can you say clear no try when the rules specifically state the benefit of the doubt must go the attacking side - sure, it looks like his down step would have touched the line but we don't know that.
Personally, I'm glad it didn't get awarded as my 1-12 came in, but the rules are clear - it should have been a try. You just can't say that is 'a clear try' - I couldn't tell if he touched the line, and nor could you.

As a Qld supporter - I absolutely agree - TRY was the only correct decision, whack a "benefit of the doubt" on there and everybody is happy. That one decision lost a massive amount of Victorian viewers as Qld proceeded to run away with it and the intensity was lost - well done Bill, your decision stunted the growth of league in that state by a further 12 months imo

how do you know there was "benefit of the doubt"? There were 2 guys in the box. Maybe 1 thought it was a no try and the other wanted refs call?

the inglis 2nd half try were he raced 60ms, mcmanus i thought had him covered but actually slowed down and ran back inside thinking gidley had him covered. big mistake. all over from there.

Once again, Gidley was one of NSW best. He made a schoolboy mistake maybe. You can't blame Gidley for the 2nd Inglis try.

one of NSW best? lol, you really need to take off your knights goggles. i didnt blame gidley for the inglis try, mcmanus made the mistake of slowing down and coming inside to try and prevent a pass when he cleary had inglis covered and should have made the tackle because there were bloody 4 blues players covering thurstan and slater off the ball.
