well so far so good.. he certainly sprinkled gold dust on the team last year and just as importantly straightened out a few negative things that had crept into the club in the time since he left in 08.
I think to a degree he's still working with an inherited playing group and there's two or three guys he'll be keen to move on as soon as the salary cap considerations will allow. We've also been paying a huge chunk of Ben Barba's contract for moving him on early.. that should finish at the end of this year.
I'd like to think Bennett can see the weaknesses that exist in the current team and has a plan to address them. IMO the forward pack is the biggest problem despite many of them being rep players. They lack size and impact players in the forwards & the better forward packs routinely bend our line and make massive metres right through the middle. There's a number of forwards who're close to retirement, or should be (like Sam Thaiday) and a number of young blokes coming through who aren't hard enough yet. Adam Blair is just a stop gap fix.
There's also guys in the backs like Maranta and Reed who need to be moved on if the club is serious too, and James Roberts' complete lack of impact is a concern.
Never thought I'd be saying it this time a year ago but Ben Hunt's form and lack of development with the "halfback 101" type stuff like kicking game and game management is becoming a big concern. At 26 in his third fair dinkum season he should be getting this stuff right but he isn't, not by a long shot. WHY??
While everyone is running around humping bits of furniture over Anthony Milford, I still think he has a way to go as a number six. He still looks like an ad lib guy who just prefers to run and play what's in front of him which I suppose would be great if he had a number 7 who could do what a number seven should be doing and a forward pack that could rattle and roll.
So there's plenty for the supercoach to prove and improve over the next 18 months or so up here.

Even the Sharks and Melbourne are ahead of Brisbane imo.
Wayne's a bit of an enigma. He is a master of twisting the narrative to suit his own agenda.
Melbourne have surprised me this year, amazing how they can turn up season after season.
