IMO it is hard for teams that run the ball as well as Tenn to EVER just lay down... Giving up for the Titans would mean airing it out every play (the Titans only real weakness on O), when teams want the game to be over they just run off-tackle.. This is where the Titans score thier points.  Remember Thanksgiving?!?!  Fisher could have kept feeding the ball to Johnson (who could have destroyed Detroit's D all day), instead he felt the need to spread it out to L. White because he bitches about his touches (or lack thereof).

They have the incentive to win this game, as well as the following 2 games.

Can't figure out why some people feel that "The Titans have rolled through the rest of the NFL, it stops here in Texas"...  Kind of like saying, " I haven't won the lottery yet, but this week is going to be different"

The Texans are not as good as they've looked over the past few weeks, this Sunday it will be evident.  Slaton will not have the same success as he's had against teams without the stellar run D of the Titans.

Why do you think it's a trap game W8LIFTER? I know the line looks small, but Tennessee cannot afford to lose this game. If they lose this game, then they play Pittsburgh for the #1 seed in the AFC the following week (IF PITTSBURGH BEATS BALTIMORE). If they lose to Houston and Pittsburgh then they are all but assured the #2 seed in the AFC. Week 17 won't matter. The Titans have a tough game against the Colts while Pittsburgh is at home against the Browns. As a Steeler fan I hope the Titans lose this week, I just don't see how that's gonna happen. Just wanted to know if you had any specific reasons as to why you think it's a trap game or is it just a gut feeling?

First off, Houston is playing outstanding right now and being at home too getting 3 with the line already dropping a half point. Secondly, the general rule of thumb is always take the home team getting points. Thirdly, the underdog is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 meetings. Lastly, this is not the last time you will hear this game being referred to as a trap before Sunday noon.

    Titans 38 - Texans 13

In case you have not heard Houston has the 3rd ranked offense averaging nearly 400 yards a game. It is called being healthy now... Remember what the Jets did to Tennessee at home??? lol!

I think this line is lower than expected because Houston has been playing pretty well recently, and absolutely went OFF against Green Bay.

Coach Kubiak described the team as "on cloud nine right now" . . .

Not a real good place to be with the Titans coming to town.

I agree it smells like a "come on" game from the skeptics perspective, but I still like Tennessee as they've approached every single road game with a nothing but business attitude.  Kerry Collins is seriously, having an MVP type season.

Besides, they're just a hell of alot better.

I'll take the Titans and lay the 3

Good debate on this thread and some very good points...
I know the better team is the Titans, but the better team does not always win in football. This looks like the Superbowl for Houston to me... TAKE THE POINTS

i totally agree!!!  Tenn-fisher are retarded... so overrated... how in the world do you not kick the fg last week against the browns  on the 4 yd line on 4th&2??? he thought he could run out the clock with a 1st down, but in reality Tenn-fisher could not = the browns had 2 time outs + the 2 min warning... you really cant run out the clock that easy when the other team has 3 time outs...

what a retarded call by jeff fisher... cost me 4G....

i see texans getting penetration up front & getting to collins, and also slowing the running game...  tenn is overrated, will be betting against fisher for the next 19 games!!!!!!!

Texans roll. their stupid ass coaching staff needs this win to break even at 7-7 or else they're gona get fired. Houston is going out strong in the first half winning outright then Tenn will get back in the game  but won't win.

W8LIFTER....I always respect your picks and opinion, but in this one I have to disagree. The point here is to keep it simple. Vegas has maybe set this as a "trap" or maybe they want public all over Tenesse and all of us "sharps" on the other side using general rules such as yours "take the home team and the points." In my opinion it is much better to take the better more proven team on a short line. And as far as I am concerned 7-3 ats last 10 means nothing as this is a new year with new teams. Vegas uses those same stats to try and come up with the lines. It reminds me of everyone taking teams vs. titans because they were "due" to lose. I will take the titans -2.5 for 2 units. I do not think this is a gimmie by any means at all which is the reason for 2 units. I just think in a game like this, short favorite, and one of the best teams in football 11-2 ats I have to take them yet again. Good omen to bet good teams that cover on the regular. It's going to get tough with the regular season winding down, so best of luck to all of you!

I think the Titans have already locked out Indy for the division thus Indy can't get home field...If you need to pay the rent this month bet Houston..They will win this one running away

Vanden Bosch has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Houston, the Tennessean reports. "He is out this week," coach Jeff Fisher said Friday. "We expect him to be back at full speed (at some point) later in the season."
Impact: Vanden Bosch, who missed three games with the injury earlier in the season, evidently aggravated his groin injury last weekend against the Browns. - Fri. Dec 12, 2008)

Wasn't he out when Tennessee got a wake up call against the Jets at home? Yesss!
