I have to have the points in this game. Everyone has written off JAX, but after a nice W last week, I expect them to go into this game with a little momentum. JAX +7 (hopefully).

Those guys are top 5 potentials, Sanchez....not so much.

Rex Ryan has 2 weeks to prepare for this weak passing attack and good running game. The Jets have one of the best passing defenses in the league, by far no.1 in yards per attempt allowed. Both teams have good running games and average passing games, the difference is in the pass D's where the Jags are one of the worst, and get absolutely no pressure on QBs. Therefore Sanchez will not lose this game by throwing picks, and the Jets will have enogh opportunities on offense to cover a TD.

Jets last 3 games were a 5 point loss to the Dolphins when they gave up 2 kickoff return TDs and a pick 6. They should have won that easily. Before that a blowout and shutout of the Raders, and before that another close loss in a game where dirty Sanchez threw 5 picks. So unless something extreme happens, the Jets should win easily.

    Could someone please explain how the Jets (at 4-4) with a marginally talented unproven rookie QB are a touchdown favorite over the Jags (also, at 4-4) with a decent veteran QB and MJD in the backfield? Neither team really impresses me, but I'm taking the points - that's just too many to pass up.....

Jags have played KC,TEN,STL,SEA and TENN as of late...

Garrard has not thrown a TD on the road this year.

Jags have only 8 sacks this year.

Jets are 6 - 1 off a bye,beating Cin,Pitt and NE in last three.

ReX has pumped in overtime film sessions.

Rain is more concerning than Jags secondary.

Would you rather have 2 weeks to prepare for the Jags or 3 weeks to prepare for NE? Jets go to Foxboro next week, I'm calling for a look ahead game here and taking the points.

NFL teams with a 1-3 record in their last 4 games are not 'looking ahead'...You can't be serious.

"Looking ahead" is one of the dumbest concepts people ever bring up. Do you seriously think the coaching staff is watching film and drawing up play for NE, and not spending that time preparing for the Jags? This is the NFL, every game counts just as much as the rest, and 4-4 teams can't afford to look ahead.
