NO BRAINER HERE FOR ME,JACKTOWN PLUS 14 FOR 5 UNITS,TO MANY POINTS I KNOW NE WINS AND MAYBE THAY MIGHT GET BEAT WHO KNOWS BUT 2 TOUCH DOWNS I HAVE TO TRY THIS,IF THE LINE GOS DOWN I CAN ALWAYS TAKE THE OTHER SIDE LATER. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL

To be honest I was fearing the day these two teams would meet, and to be honest I was hoping the Steelers would beat the Jags the other day so that my Patriots wouldn't have to play the Jags in the playoffs.  IMO if there is anyone out there to try and stop the Patriots streak, it is this team right here.. I will stay away from the spread because I can't possibly bet against my team.   
 
I will defintely take the OVER whatever it is.  Don't know if many of you have noticed but I have cashed in almost every OVER in a Jags game all season except maybe one..I even think hawkeye posted last week that almost every jags game has gone over except one or so.  And now you're in a position where you are going up against the best offense in the league?  This game will go WAY over and I plan to pound it big time.  Good luck everyone.

Really?  PatsGrl with Tom Brady as an avatar is a diehard Pats fan?  Haha...thanks for the update!!

As for Jacksonville, I was right there along with you with fearing Jacksonville up until I saw the Pittsburgh game.  Now I know that all the Jaguars backers are gonna say look at the first half...but what happened in the first half is that Jones-Drew had a huge return, and Big Ben threw 3 picks.  I'm sure there are a few teams in the NFL that can put up 21 points if given that situation.  Tom Terrific will NOT throw 3 int's in the first half, the entire game, and maybe not even the playoffs.  That is where the Pats will have the HUGE advantage in this game.  There was absolutely nothing about the Jaguars defense that showed they could stop the Pats.  Brady will have 3-4 touchdowns at least.

The biggest question is obviously how long Brady is going to be on the field, and how successful the Jags run game will be.  I'm not sure of the exact stat, but under Bill Belichick the Pats are something around 12-1 when given two weeks to prepare for a team.  They will have something good cooked up to shut down Taylor and Jones-Drew, and try and make Garrard beat them.  The Pats are almost unstoppable at home in the playoffs, and it is damn tough to win consecutive road games in the playoffs, as the Jags are trying to do.  I'm not sensing a total blow out in this one because I think the Pats are going back towards their older more conservative style of play.  I think they jump out early and play keep-away...force Garrard to beat them.  3-team 10-point teaser on this one.  Pats -3.5...Jaguars +23.5...UNDER 58

I like the Jags +13.5 in this one. I know that everyone is all over the Pats and everything but honestly if the Jags can establish a run game and not turn the ball over and maintain some long, clock-eating drives this game will be a lot closer than you think. No doubt in my mind that the Pats will win but the Jags can run on anyone and never turn the ball over. Congrats to Brady and all you Pats fans but the glory ends next week when the Colts steam roll you guys. I agree that whenever you bet this game check the weather before hand. For all of us rooting for the Jags root for rain, snow, sleet and heavy winds!!! lol Bet the OVER if the weather is nice.

Well boys, I'm jumpin' on the Pats I took them early Pats -11.5  And even more good news!  My bro lives in Newton, MA.  Called me today and snaged 2 Tix to the game through his Company!  I'm Friggin' PUMPED!!! Leaving Florida Thrusday to start tailgating Sat. morning, this is going to be Awesome!  Beer, Broads, and Football...Amen!  Going to see my Pats play Live for the 1st time in almost 2 yrs.  I've already packed my backup Liver!  And my bro told me we have decent seats to, about 50 rows up from the 30yard line.  As long as I'm there i don't care were I sit!  Good luck to all of you!  Pats are gonna Roll here.  Watch for the Cowboys for some reason, I'm taking the G-men (small play)  Anyway see you all next week!  Go Make some Money!!!

I have to agree that the key to this game is the weather which at this time looks like it will be clear and light winds with a high in the 40's.  This type of weather is the kiss of death for anyone who plays the Pats this year.  If it was going to be windy and snow or rain I might take the 13.5 and sit back and watch a close game.  That however is not the case here and the Pats are going to win this in blowout fashion.  Yes the Jags have what it takes to put up a good fight ie a strong D and a great running game with a good coaching staff.  I think the biggest key to the game is the bye week.  Giving Belichick an extra week to gameplan is huge....Brady and the recievers will come out and pick apart the Jags and as was said earlier once you force the Jags to become a passing team they get ugly.

I like the consensus lean on Pats in the first half, but here is a strange observation - ever notice how during the regular season, the halftime parlay result (side and total) is quite often the game result, so easier to bet?
 
Coincidentally, last weekend I don't believe in any of the Wildcard games did the first half result mirror the game result (ie Jax/over half, Pit/over game - all ATS).  Always tougher to bet the playoffs, no soft out-of-market games to find soft lines.  GL on the parlays, I am sticking to straight plays this weekend except perhaps a parlay on the Chargers.

I agree CM - I think the question is how Jags decide to manage the clock.  If they keep the Pats off the field, they will have more success to winning this game.

NE isn't the #1 def in the league... Pitts D is better in Pts/gm and yards/gm compare to NE..  look what the Jags did to that defence..  31 pts in the rain..  Really like the over on this one.. Not touching the sides as i get a feeling this game may be closer that people thing.. but i won't bet again an offence like NE..  could really go either way here...

Here's an interesting stat from a Pats homer:

The Pats are 10-6 vs. the spread the last two seasons.
That means that if you put $1000 per week on them every week for the past 2 seasons, you would be up $6,000.
If you put $500 on them every week, the overall winnigns would be $3,400..but you get the drift.
 
I knwo there are teams with similar ATS the last couple of years like S.D. but as a Patriots homer, I don't know why I haven't been mliking this <expected> gravy train every year under the Belichick regime.
 
Why would things change for this team under Brady and Belichick, can't we expect them to keep winning conistetnly and keep covering spreads?

Just locked in Jax+13.5 for 3 units (1-5), and praying my local puts up a money line in this game, which I'll place 2 units on Jax, if given the opportunity. I see Jax hammering the ball down their throats, eating up clock, and playing very loose on both sides of the ball. Pats won't choke, they'll just plain get beat by a field goal, in a fairly low scoring physical affair.
