First time post here. Always visit, I cap games, but I like to pick up info in the forums to use. Sty and CK were very good, and I see some of the same systems. You guys get that site up, please add me as a friend so I can get included.

Hayhay, No disrespect intended but these kinds of posts annoy me. I understnad that you like philly in the first half but why? Did you flip a coin, is it based on past games, are you just going with the crowd? Come on bro give us some insight.
Ill tell you why Philly first half. Because the vast majority of the public is on Detroit -5.5, so if they had a consensus for the first half wagering it would probably even be more lopsided for a small minus 2.5 first half spread...Any average person who walks into a casino without doing any research or know whats going on will see Detroit -2.5 for the first half and jump on that if they are going to bet this game, as they will to with Detroit -5.5 for the game...This game is very similar to the game last night where everyone was on Cleveland, except the chalk is on the road and yesterdays game was a little more lopsided with the public betting...None the less, this is the only game on the NBA schedule tonight, and the books should see a good amount of action on this game, most of which is on Detroit, I think Vegas and any Philly bettors win this one tonight! And, its funny how the line is staying at -5.5, it probably will not move up to 6 or 6.5 like we all think, im willing to bet it will stay right where it is at 5.5...When that happens, TRAP! Bet PHILLY!

I get that but it’s just hard for me to believe. I don’t think you can bet based on the line not moving. Maybe I’m naïve but I honestly believe that the line is put there to get an equal number of bettors on each side. It opened up at -5 there is a lot of money on DET so now it’s at -5.5. To prove my point let me point out the DAL/NO game 5. It opened up at -4.5 only half a point away from the final number, people were amazingly heavy on NO and the line got pushed all the way to -7 at game time. If you would of got in early and placed your bet on NO buying a half you would of pushed. If vegas was out to get you don’t you think they would of opened the line at -6 knowing that a ton of money was still going to pour in on NO. What happened here is that the line moved in order to get more action on the other side (VEGAS doing a little CYA). Vegas had the line right when it came out but the public pushed it. In this case the right choice would have been that after the public pushed the line that much to take the other side since vegas had the line correct when it came out.
If you go against or with the line movement you are basically betting against the public. I’m not sure how often you will be right or wrong but I would say you are right more often than not betting against the public. However bear in mind that the line Vegas puts out is usually pretty dead on. If a line opens at -5 and at gametime is -7 and you bet with the public you are basically betting that the Vegas line is wrong. And I hate doing that.
