Detroit at Philadelphia (05/01/2008)

I have been checking out this forum for years but just decided to register and put my two cents in.  This is an excellent sports betting forum.

Here goes,

I have analyzed this game and I don’t see any reason why DET doesn’t put Philly to sleep and end this series.  The problem is the majority of the public also thinks the same thing.  This pick seems too easy and that’s sets off a red flag for me picks are never that easy.  The oddsmakers new the public would jump all over DET -5pts and would have opened the line at DET -6 or -7 if they really wanted to even out the public money.  I understand the line was Det-5.5 for the last two Philly home games but this line for this game should have been a little bit higher with the way DET has played the last 2 games and with this also being an elimination game to even out the public money.  Sometimes the games that look easy to pick are payback games especially after the CLEV game yesterday but I don’t think that’s the case with this being the only game on tonight’s schedule its more likely another trap game.  The oddsmakers have set their trap and are looking for DET takers!  I’m going to put my confidence with the oddsmakers who set the lines for the multimillion dollar casinos that they know more about this game then I do and who think by setting the line at DET -5 that Philly has a high % to cover tonight’s game.  Don’t fall into the trap take Philly to cover right before tip off which should get you +6 or +6.5 at that point.
