Some thoughts Over 70% of the money is on Boston. Stern has his dream match up NBA and networks make big bucks for more games..
As much as I'd love to see it, no way the Lakers lose but -9.5pts. That's an awful lot of chalkychalk... again 70% on Boston.. If it walks like a duck....
Fakers by 13... 98-85.. But I'm layin' off may make a small, value play on the Bos ML just in case it's one of those opposite George moments!
BOL all...

Again these players could care less about any networks making "big bucks for more games". That will not effect how they play. Their hearts are in it and the "refs" cannot take that away. Skill is skill and will ultimately prevail!!!!

Playing the under here. 196 is a lot of points. I know they hit 210 last game, but c'mon, it's not going to happen again. I'll give you my Joe Namath prediction and guarantee....Leon Powe does not score half of what he did Sunday! Lakers 102 Boston 87.

I don't believe Teasers are "sucker bets". I do however feel that Parlays are. I usually seem to do quite well with Teasers and always feel they are to my advantage and they typically prove that way.

I can't stop laughing...I nearly pissed myself I was laughing so hard. I'm giving the 9.5 and I hope the Lakers lose outright just so you drop 6k on an idiotic bet. No one with an IQ over 85 makes that wager. DOH!!!
Too funny, and then somehow his 10 units became $6,000 to explain how he would be up $1000 with this bet. I really think he got confused and thought he would WIN 6-1 instead of vice versa. Why else compare it to the Giants Superbowl wager which would have been a GREAT underdog ML bet vs this bet which is terrible payout to take a huge favorite. There is no comparison. This is someone who is making their picks but never really putting any money on it. He even said in his initial post as to why he would be all over this pick, "I really think the Lakers can win this game." No, really? Is that why they are almost a 10 point favorite? I've never been about bashing picks. I've had mine bashed before. GoG and BigTimeOTown have both been completely hostile to me, called me an idiot, asked to be my bookie, etc. etc. and I know it sucks, but come on. I guess if your bankroll is huge enough you can lay out huge cash for small payouts on what would be colossal upsets to beat you, but I don't see this being one of those situations. I really am not trying to bash you, I think you just made a mistake when you read this initial line thinking it was a 6-1 payout and don't want to admit it now. That's why all I was doing initially was asking how you thought you would make $1,000 on a 10 unit bet. I guess your units are measured at $600 each. By the way, I really hope the Lakers win, and I hope they win by 10 or more points, and if they don't, I'll live to play another day because it's only 4 units and I'm 1-1 in the series. A guy put it very well earlier in this thread that the best advice he ever got was to not want to win every game because that is never going to happen. There are no gimme's, which is why playing terrible payout odds on huge favorite ML picks will eventually bust you because you are looking for the guaranteed payout. For instance, let's say you lose your $6K tonight (which I really don't believe you are playing). How many 6-1 ML favorites do you have to play at $6K each to make up for that one big upset? Well, no need to pull out your calculators there kids, the answer is 6. So after risking 36K later and assuming no more big upsets, you are back to even. Don't be afraid to take a dog once in a while. It's fun, and they cover about half the time. It's how Vegas stays in business. GLA.

keep it plain and simple like it has been doing for the most part of the playoffs, home teams and unders has been hitting thru out the playoffs, I especially love the idea that the last game an underdog won the game (Boston Celtics) & of course leave it up to Las Vegas to have a spread of Los Angeles Lakers -9, scare money don't make money, give your money a doulbe barrel shotgun and blast away, make the wise decision fellow gamblers, nation wide ass whipping for the Celtics, Lakers can play ball & the ref's will make sure of that.

They're clearly, overmatched in this series and I agree that the biggest mismatch is on the defensive end for LA. But they also happen to be overmatched physically in general, around the rim, on the boards and on the finishing of plays. And ss much as I love Lamar Odom, he's had problem finishing all year anyway.
It was nice to see Gasol go at Garnett for a change. If the Lakers have ANY chance of pulling off the impossible, he's got to do alot more of that.
Oh yeah, and it looks like the Celtics have a good a transition game as LA does as well . . . .
I absolutely agree with GoG that the Celtics series line is the safest play the rest of the way, and if the Lakers win tonight it drops to an even better bargain.
As far as tonight goes, the Lakers might have one or two tricks left up their sleeve.
Yes, Boston relaxed at the end of game two, but, the Lakers did do something different for the first time in this series and that was to play some small ball.
The went with Fisher, Kobe, and the 3 Euros, finally started jacking up some 3's and, surprise, surprise, putting Kobe on Pierce on the defensive end was actually effective and produced the only scoring drought so far for the dude who's clearly on his way to winning the series MVP award.
But the Lakers can only play small-ball for so long and if they continue to use Kobe on Pierce on the defensive end, it's going to make him less effective on offense.
But they can probably afford to do that tonight, because as ODub pointed out, benches do have a tendency to play better at home. The Lakers will get more calls tonight, hit some 3's, shoot better from the field overall and find a way to win a close one.
And I actually like the over 195.5 tonight for the simple reason that LA can't seem to slow down Boston at all.
Good luck all tonight . . .
And future Laker homers take heart - next year will be different with the kid back in the line-up.

Oh boy, I could see it now, the referees & Kobe Bryant celebrating tonight, the referees are going to have Bryant jerseys underneath the stripes, did we forget but ummm, isn't Bryant MVP of the league, also isn't the wild wild west stronger than the East, not take away from the Celtics (Best record in league) just like every other game, the refs are going to help the Lakers win & cover, keep that spread high for game 4 so I could roll it back with the Celtics to at least cover, this whole gambling industry is based on Fluctuations, nothing is ever solid, just like the economy, ups & downs, Celtics are up 2-0 and covered the spread & here comes fluctuation time not its the Lakers turn, just for the simple fact that the Celtics won & were the underdogs, the Lakers show starring Phil Jackson & Kobe Bryant and surprise guest, the referees will restrict the Celtic defense tonight, just look at game 2 the free throw differential, the refs are the whodinis when it comes to the spread

I don't believe Teasers are "sucker bets". ... personal experience.... cavs and celtics game 7... spread was celtics -8. in that game i teased both teams and took the cavs for the 8 and walked with a nice amount..... as for this game i see it going the the same as the two in boston, with celts playing stellar D and lakers STEPPING up on Defense. the celts should stay strong kepping up a slow pace then la shuld pull away with an eleven point victory as kobe gets to the stripe at the end. thus winning my two team teaser and my money on the lakers -9 plus the under so in conclusion sucker bets are great bets MUAHHH

I don't think you need penetrating insight to realize that the Lakers should win this game, considering all that has gone before in these playoffs.
Home court has been so overwhelming in terms of a team's aggressiveness and energy that you might think that the fans are some kind of puppetmaster.
While the Celtics have been more than most expected, I can't see them playing with the vigor or desperation that will drive the Lakers tonight.
I agree with you Imprezive that this one might get out of hand.
With that said, I can't give 9 points to a team that has the defense and inside presence of the Celtics.
The moneyline seems to be the surest bet, but the return on investment doesn't interest someone without really big bank.
That leaves me with totals, teasers, quarters, halfs, and props. I teased Lakers -3(1 pt. buy) under 201.5 I can't see the Celtics within that range and although this game should be faster paced I don't think it goes over that number.
I played Odom to have more points than Allen +2.5
So much for a definitive call here, they have taken away much of the Laker value.
Moneymaker I hope you cash that 1st qrt. Lets solve this puzzle in-game.

We after the last game I did some research and this the following is why I am taking the Lakers Big -7 wit a 2 point buy. There have only been 3 games in history including the last that had 10 or less attempts with with Clev (4) vs Golden State in1994 being the lowest. Here are the stats through the playoffs so far
Home team has more free throws in 11 of 16 games (69%) Team with more free throws 11-3-1 ATS
Finally, here is a hightlight of a article and the link for it
The disgraced former NBA referee told authorities in a four-page letter released Tuesday that two officials conspired to fix the outcome of a 2002 playoff series among other games.
Court documents filed by Donaghy's lawyer detailed the "inner-workings" of a plot in which top league executives used referees to manipulate the games. Donaghy claims two referees were "company men" whose job was to extend a playoff series in 2002 to a seventh game.
The report said the referees allegedly ignored flagrant fouls committed by the team that needed to win and called phantom fouls against the other team which led to two of their players fouling out. The team supposedly favored by the refs won Games 6 and 7 to win the series, according to the allegations.
Make your own assuptions but please don't tell me it can't happen it already has. Lets hope the trend continues GL

Gotta give you props on this post as well. Keep it plain and simple. Go with what works
Lakers are 8-0 in the postseason at Staples Center and unbeaten in 14 home games since March 28.
Need more be said?
