"Unpopular front runner" seems like an oxymoron.  But I guess we are dealing with morons here when we are talking trump and trump supporters

The Democrats don't have much to crow about.  Most of them are choosing Clinton (-13) instead of Sanders (+7).

I am glad as a non-Partisan indepdent you bring up both sides.  You might be a non-partisan independent yourself. 

Democrats had two candidates in 2008 that could have won the presidency.  But now it seems like they have two weaker ones. Sanders is unelectable and is able to take advantage of Obama being such a centrist and being too right winged for the progressive paradigm.   Evident by sanders being more left and his popularity.

This would be a great chance for the GOP had they invested in anything resembling a candidate or an identity beyond throwing emotional tantrums the last 8 years

Trump's childish antics and bombastic rhetoric may have helped Obama's popularity by making him seem more statesmanlike by comparison.

It's seems like poor strategy for Obama whiners,  but I think trump is able to troll so many of them. 

It's actually scary that trump can have so much of an effect on Obama perception

If nominated, he would be the most unpopular nominee in 32 years.  Of course, he has not even captured half of the delegates so far, so his nomination is far from secure.

I think cooler heads will prevail in the end and the GOP with a clue will be able to save emotional ignorant masses of their base from themselves.

Maybe it's me seeing the GOP on a positive light here, but I assure you I am a non-partisan independent critical of all side and having no allegiances

FYI, the last Democratic Presidential candidate that received my vote was Dukakis.  This year looks to be the seventh consecutive time I will vote for a minor-party candidate.

I don't think anyone with a brain could really like trump. They like that he isn't PC, he has said what so many want, but his words are pretty empty. All he talks about is a wall, slowing China, and making deals. The problem is, he hasn't said how he is going to do it. He is the best bull garbage artist there is, he can literally get on stage for 2 hours and say absolutely nothing. 

I wanted to like Trump when he first signed on, but after 3 months, I realized I have no clue what this guy is talking about. He hasn't told me anything about his plan.

I agree, I'm socially liberal, but fiscally conservative. Meaning, I don't mind social programs, as long as they are regulated. They should be used to help some one up not, as a hand out. I don't care if gays get married, but if you got a person you are biologically a man, go to the appropriate bathroom. 

The Government has to balance the budget, I have to, so should they. Social programs can get money if it is there to give, but we don't strip Social Security that people have paid into their entire lives to give to those who decided to darn off their lives.

I respect you too but I think we are just on opposite sides of the trump issue. But I guess when you are a non-partisan independent disagreement happens with everyone now and then
