Holy garbage, Trump is not going to resign. That kind of talk sounds about as fing delusional as the people who support Trump and trust him to be an honest person with scruples. You're stuck with this giant ahole for 4 years and even though I suspect the strategy of alienating Democrats and never working with them will lose independents in the next general election cycle, it won't do any good until that point, presuming I am right that this is the nadir for the Democrats and the zenith for the Republicans.
What's funny is my friend's brother is coming back this weekend from the Air Force and the American Legion is throwing a party for him Sunday night. If I say anything disparaging while in a room full of people who are drunk, I'll get some angry looks and perhaps someone might actually do something violent. Like me, you're going to have to learn to live with Donald Trump, even if he represents everything that's wrong with life.
