Well, we've had progressive tax rates for many decades & for those who don't think high top tier tax rates are fair, you must have hated the modern repub prez's/admin. Since Eisenhower, the top rate has averaged over 50% during the years of Ike, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush1 & Bush2 with St Ronnie's top rate being 50% for the vast majority of his yrs as prez. I guess those guys must have been huge socialists & wealth redistributors, lol. Whereas Obama has only proposed going back to the 39.6% we had under Clinton only on earnings over $250K which means that rate doesn't kick in til $357K with everything under being taxed at between 10% & 30%.

Rooster010, I just checked with the Research Dept and they are telling me they can't find where WSC has ever said SEVERAL things to Luckylogan etc (in this Forum )....But they did find one time a few days ago where he was very severely admonished and firmly chastised by WSC .....after weeks and weeks of name calling and combative post comments...

I prefer a nanny state for millions of Americans rather than the very few be super rich! GOP mantra is " Party and Profits over Country!" There is NO trickle down anything..except for the urine trickling down Reagan's leg! Why are we the only nation with a FOR-PROFIT health care industry in the industrialized western world? The crumbling of the middle class is the forebearance of the crumbling of our nation as we know it! It's going to become a Banana Republic soon!

I respect LL for being truthful. The problem is politicians will not be truthful. The last politician that was truthful was Walter Mondale. Reagan walked away from that election with a 49 state landslide, with a urine soaked leg to boot.

I've said this for years about our for-profit health care industry:
We have the best health care in the world; surgeons, pharmaceuticals, hospitals, etc. The US is on the cutting edge of technology. To get the smartest professionals in the business we have to pay them more. Doctors and microbiologist would have no incentive to go to school for 12 years if they weren't going to be paid for it.
