It seems to me that this is s flaw of trump and trump supporters. Rather than ignoring negative opinions and comments the choice is to pivot off of them into an angry emotional attack mode trying to bash and discredit the person with the opinion.
The most effective thing to do is to ignore them like Paul Ryan did when trump became unhinged on twitter. But this also takes the self
Control and Temperment to be able to do this and it appear neither trump his supporters have that.

Punks like DeNiro actually actually think they're tough because they've played tough guys in the movies. Totally stupid. This is akin to the occasional "internet tough guy" who stops by to tell everyone he is going to kick their butt....on the internet. Hollywood morons.
