These people are dumped and left to their own devices once here. its a travesty. Refugee policy is a for profit business in this country. You'll all learn more about it this year as Trump shuts it down. 

good news, zelo.  as a group, immigrants and refugees probably commit fewer violent crimes than just about any other.  so if foxnews tells you to be scared of scary dark skinned people who don't speak english well (you know, like jesus), i'm here to tell you not to be.

In my city,  we have an elementary school completely overwhelmed. These people have tons of small children. I doubt any of you in here know much about education administration, but lets just say it has destroyed a once excellent public school in my city.  This of course is in the poorest neighborhood, where the school was a bright spot in a desperate place. Lutheran and Catholic social services dump them all in these neighborhoods after they get their fat paycheck from the Feds.  

i would say toddlers killing people.  it's had an irreversibly damaging effect on the victims and the toddlers. 


i think immigration and exposing people to different cultures and languages is a good thing, for the most part.  we actually put our kids in public school partially for that purpose. 

now, that isn't a comment on your post #4 as i'm sure school administrators can darn it up and it can be a big problem in the poorer areas.

i wasn't answering based on percentages.  i know the toddler shootings are a statistically insignificant occurrence while refugees in america is too but more prevalent.

i'm saying if you look at them qualitatively, exposure to refugees/immigrants/different people is generally a good thing.  toddlers having guns and shooting people is pretty much always a bad thing. 

I got a 2 and 4 year old at home,  We plan on public school as well to start, but I'm in a neighborhood with a brand new school in a newer party of the city. So this doesn't affect me, I don't have to live with them. 

That's the problem. Something like this needs seriosu planning and resources to back it up. And when that doesn't happen, you get all the problems we are seeing.


honestly, i don't know much about those problems but i'm sure you are right about the government not planning appropriately with disastrous results for a lot of people.

we handle primarily criminal law and immigration law here so we see who comes over, what they need to do to be here and whether they commit crimes, but we don't really see what happens to them once they get here on a day to day basis. 

and we don't really deal with refugees, unless they commit crimes, then we might see some. 

public school is a shaky proposition.  it's easy for me to say that i want my kids in public school with exposure to different people but we had to move counties to get to a good one. 

had we not had that option, no friggin way would my kids be going to the fucked up school they were slated for once they got old enough where serious garbage can happen.  so, i get it that it can be a problem for people who aren't fortunate to have options.  of course, here it isn't a immigrant problem.  it's a poor people/shitty parents/shitty schools/shitty local government/underfunding problem. 

if we were going to start a new civilization today, it seems like something we should all be able to agree on is the importance of educating the kids who are going to carry that society forward.  yet, our public schools generally suck and teachers are underpaid and education and schools are far from a priority.

anyway, i went to private school for elementary school and middle school and didn't like it.  fortunately, the public high school i was slated for was good so my parents switched me there.  much better group of people.  and i said i would not have my kids go to private school and be surrounded by the same friggin douchebags i was exposed to early on. 

but again, it depends on your options.  we are fortunate to have a good option after we moved.  i know a lot of people aren't and either just have to hope for the best in public school or bite the bullet and go to private school. 

it's friggin pathetic that we spend so much money on bullshit yet just about every parent has to deal with this dilemma but i guess that's what happens when your government sucks.

4 face hate crime charges in videotaped attack

Cook County prosecutors on Thursday filed hate-crime charges against four African-American defendants accused of holding a white mentally disabled man captive, torturing him for hours and posting videos of acts that police Supt. Eddie Johnson called “reprehensible” and the White House condemned.

Jordan Hill, 18, of Carpentersville, and Tesfaye Cooper, 18, Brittany Covington, 18, and Tanishia Covington, 24, all of Chicago, are expected to appear in bond court Friday, according to the Cook County state’s attorney’s office.

They face charges of aggravated kidnapping, hate crime, aggravated unlawful restraint and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Hill is also charged with robbery, residential burglary and possession of a stolen motor vehicle. In addition, Cooper and Brittany Covington are charged with residential burglary.

They allegedly tortured the 18-year-old victim for about six hours in an apartment where the Covington sisters live on the West Side, police said. The defendants are accused of putting videos of the torture on Facebook. They’re seen forcing the victim to drink toilet water, cutting the victim with a knife, and forcing him to say “I love black people,” authorities say. Someone in the apartment also said, “F— Trump” and “F— white people.”

During the Streamwood police investigation, the victim’s parents started “receiving text messages from persons claiming to be holding him captive,” officials said.

In one of the videos the defendants allegedly posted on Facebook, a man threatened the victim with a knife. Someone told the victim, “kiss the floor, b—-!” and “nobody can help you anymore.” At one point, someone told the victim, “say ‘I love black people.’ ”

Of the four defendants, only Tanishia Covington has an adult criminal record, according to court records.

She was convicted of shoplifting in 2005 and received court supervision. In 2009, she was charged with assault, in 2012 she was charged with battery and in 2014 she was charged with domestic battery and endangering a life, but those cases were dismissed.

Tanishia Covington pleaded guilty in April 2016 to failing to appear at a hearing on a charge of criminal trespass to state land — and received probation, records show.

Brittany Covington was charged with shoplifting in October, but that case was dismissed.

Hill and Cooper don’t appear to have adult criminal records.

On Wednesday, community activist Andrew Holmes had said of the incident: “In so many ways this was a hate crime because of what they said to him — saying he’s with Trump. When you make a person say, ‘I love black people,’ that’s a hate crime all the way.”

Holmes said he hopes the video doesn’t provoke a racial backlash in Chicago.

“Let the chips fall where they may, and let the judicial system work,” he said.

In November, the day after the election, an online video showed a man being attacked in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side, while bystanders taunted him, saying he had voted for Donald Trump.

Eventually, four people were charged in connection with that attack.

These ignorant ghetto educated idiots, need to be put in Prison for several years. The BLM should be listed as a terrorist group of racial motivated thugs.
