This post is a classic example of posters (one and three) who would criticize the President no matter what he did.

The US has always been a trendsetter in that regard. We have sent black representatives/delegates/athletes to countries that advocate racism; we have sent women representatives/delegates/athletes to countries that advocate sexism.

I'm glad Obama is continuing what other Republican and Democratic Presidents have done in the past and not let another country dictate our actions and beliefs in this area.

I'm not surprised that the poster in post # 5 would support the hypocrisy of Obama as a human rights crusader....

Where was Obama's foreign policy support for the LGBT community in his speech to the Muslims world in Cairo,Egypt ?

Obama gave a full bow from the waist to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia a country where LGBT rights are unrecognized..and men  ( lets say) who “behave like women” are arrested thrown in jail and whipped ..where same sex relations are a crime and punishable by imprisonment, corporal punishment or death..

Yet,, the Obama administration sells the Saudis tens of billions of dollars worth of high- tech weapons.

This thread isn't about any of those issues nor human rights. Is is about sending openly g-a-y athletes to a country that does not support g-a-y rights.

Knowing your posting history, I understand your opposition.

Imagine how they would have complained if Obama sent Jesse Owens to Berlin

I wish that we could live in a world where the word G-A-Y wasn't censored like a curse word on internet web forums.

Who is being more unfair to the happy community,  Covers or Putin?

    Well...... Putin,  obviously.

But you get what I'm saying.

Oh I see.. I criticized Obama for something he did ..so I must be a racist ..

I implied that it wasn't a good foreign relations move..by President Obama.since Russian law forbids anyone from promoting non-traditional sexual relations ...But hey!  Why should Obama respect the law in other countries..when he doesn't even do it here in this country....

I predict other THAN a terrorist act, this will be the # 1 political and SOCIAL issue in next week's upcoming Games...

Guess the Annoited One never lost his "community organizing roots" in lighting this match.....watch out

Having his host network will only expand what this microscope reveals

There are plenty of legit things to complain about with this President but this one???? As far as a foreign relations move it really isn't that big of a deal, why not give Putin a little jab as he has done to us and Obama repeatedly? Who gives a crap what that murder thinks.
